What's the best kind of candy?

Loren thinks it is Reese's Peanut Butter Cups or Butterfingers. I think he's right on the first one, but Butterfingers are vile.

Other faves of mine are: KitKats (so fucking good), Whatchamacallits, Twix... And That's all that comes to mind. When I was a kid, I loved Cadbury Cream Eggs and Three Musketeers, but I think both are gross now.

Reeses Pieces, Jolly Ranchers (I once bought a 10lb bag from Sams Club in BR and kept eating them until the last 1/5 turned into a melted goo they were so old), 100 Grand, Almond Joy. more to come.

I really enjoy Snicker's Ice Cream bars... but that is a bit out of the scope of this topic...

I have always found Butterfingers wretched. I used to throw them out when I sorted through my Halloween stash as a kid.

I love Nerds, Cadbury Cream Eggs, and Peanut Butter Twixes, but SweetTarts are probably my favourite. I like the Easter animal SweetTarts. The grape bunnies are the best because you can suck on them until they get soft on the outside and then scrape the raised surface of the bunny-butts against your teeth such that the candy flakes off in a pleasing manner.

I'm cooking a couple batches of take-your-time-with-it's tonight, to make up for pissing off one of our office managers. The recipe calls for caramels, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and heath bars. It's almost flamable.

In England, there are purple Cadbury's chocolate vending machines on every subway platform (sorry, "tube stop"). My favorite candy bar is the Cadbury Fuse bar, which I don't think you can get in the US. It has raisins, rice kirspies, fudge chunks, nuts, and god knows what else.

I don't really like most candy- I especially don't like hard sugar candies. I eat more foody stuff, like chocolate and cookie dough.

Yes I like those Cookie Dough bites in movie theaters.
No I have not tried the new TollHouse cookie candy bar. Is it any good?
josh [email] said at 10:06 AM 08-27-2004:
Cookie Dough is awesome... I also like cookies in general. Grandma's brand cookies are better than almost any candy bar, especially since they are just 50 cents!
meredith [email] said at 10:19 AM 08-27-2004:
England introduced me to Cadbury's Fruit and Nut bar. I hate nuts, but man, I love those things.
I still love the cream eggs too. I just have to have milk after them.

But England does not have Reeses. And in that, they fail me. Reeses are the best thing ever.

    Next to Oreos.
woody [email] said at 10:59 AM 08-27-2004:
1. Jelly Bellies
2. Reese PBC's
3. salty Dutch licorice
4. Holy crap! I just realized what I am buying when I go the The Netherlands this winter!!!

umm, if you're buying candy when you go to the netherlands, you've got it all wrong

mmm all those are good! i like all candy! does anyone like black licorice? its weird how many black licorice things they have but whenever i ask or show anyone they say, ewww gross! i remember when i was little i used to take the ten cent tootsie roll and wrap it around my bottom row of teeth like it was chewing tobbacco and when i would spit it would be black like it really was. also has anyone ever made fake teeth out of the starburst? you take strawberry (pink) and you smoosh it all up on your teeth to make some fake gums and then you take lemon (yellow) and you make the fake teeth to stick on to the gums. it looks really cool and then you can eat your teeth when they start disolving in your mouth. does anyone like big hunks or chik o'stiks? i guess chik o stiks are just like butterfingers... you know what else is good, those brach's candies, the white nooget goo with the gummy bits mixed in. yum!
meredith [email] said at 12:00 PM 08-27-2004:
Black licorice jelly beans are my favorite jelly beans. You can all send me all of your black licorice jelly beans in the mail.
myriam [email] said at 1:19 PM 08-27-2004:
I hate licorice but I loved making false starburst teeth!

also, the brach's butter whatever candies are goooood. the light brown ones.

SNICKERS ALMOND.
abby [email] said at 6:07 PM 08-27-2004:
we're living in a very exciting time for candy. there's a lot of avenues being explored and bizarre fusions. but seriously snickers almond is so good, but amazin fruit gummi bears and pretty much any of that 2/$1 gummi candy are classics and are beautiful.

seth [email] said at 4:01 PM 08-28-2004:
ok, reese's definitely winds, hands down. Every good thing in the world has started with Reese's. Like Resse's cereal - why eat "candy" and get incredibly full when you can eat "cereal" and THINK that just maybe you actually got something nutritious inside yourself. Seriously, that cereal is my snack of choice. I put fancy looking glass bowls all over the house and fill them with it, just so when I'm walking around I can take handfulls of it if I so desire.

Though, I must confess my sins; sometimes I crave heath bars.
rick [email] said at 4:21 PM 08-28-2004:
Skittles are wonderful even if, as Ted Nancy pointed out, the name sounds like an old WWII-era venereal disease.
