brianbibbly [email] said at 12:28 PM 10-20-2004: Basically. Usually a petition for damages has to be served personally upon the Defendant or a person designated to accept service of process. Domilciary service can also be accepted in certain circumstances, but personal service is usually needed for the initial petition.
The PI's don't wear suits anymore and they are very very sneaky so you really don't know when to run.
He probably was never home when the Sheriff came by to serve him. They are lazy and will try twice or something. After that you have to spend money to have him served.
