This is a picture of me and Joe Mitra.
He had a birthday a few days ago and I totally forgot. He is born the same day as Latoya Jackson. He makes me laugh just as much but isn't half as funny looking. I kept reminding myself over and over to not forget his birthday (I am the girl who remembers ALL birthdays, ya know?) and I thought about it so much that somehow I forgot. That made me upset.
Joe is one of my best friends- hands down. Baltimore is cool and all but I definately don't see him as much now and that is entirely NOT cool. We've often compared our friendship to two thirds of Jeepers. We are
food and fun- sans the
monkey. We love to eat lots. We love to get silly and act retarded and dance around to hiphop in his car, we love to have embarrasingly bad freestyle sessions to the beats he creates while driving to get food. We always want to get food. We can talk about really gross things like butt zits and poop stories and menstrual blood for hours and it never gets old, tired, or boring.
I remember the first day I met him very vividly. I was a freshman in high school and he was a cooler junior. He had on baggy corderoys, a floppy skater cut and a chain wallet. I was wearing my Babes In Toyland shirt and as he passed me in the hall he made some kind of comment about it. I couldn't tell if he was complimenting it or if he was making fun of me. Joe loves to make fun of me but I wouldn't have it any other way.
We've been friends ever since. Sometimes a long time will go by and I won't see him but when I do it's like no time has gone by at all. We just go stuff our faces and gossip and catch up and talk a lot about old times.
Some of you on here know Joe. Some of you don't. He'll be getting a head soon and even if he never posts I just wanted to share the love I have for this friend. I hope that he is in my life till I'm old and grey and he'll still be calling me a "bleeatch!" in his creaky 80 year old voice and inviting me out for senior citizen discount burritos.
