Love is like a dirt race track that you circle every year. Halloween night starts off the challenge with some short rough moguls to traverse. You must have a good time with your mate on the 31st if you hope to make it through to the New Year. There are a few big jumps you have to make in the form of the holidays of November-December. If you make it through those you coast for a moment until the chasm-of-death jump known as Valentine's Day. Many relationships cannot survive this jump. Some clear the distance but lose their balance just after making it and crash into the haystacks before making the next turn. If your relationship makes it through to March you have a good chance of making the round through late fall.
God help you if you start off a relationship in February. I'm sorry to tell you that any long-term hopes are doomed. Aside from the 14th, it is nearing the end of winter and everyone is sick of cold weather and is generally crabby. If you have a birthday in February as well, a new February relationship will last about as long as a fart in a hurricane. If you want a serious lasting relationship, the optimal window is April to August to start it. While March and September are still optimistic, if you are not involved by November, it would be best to let your romantic needs hibernate until spring.
I don't mean to be a cynic. I wish this to be a message of hope. You are nearing the finish line. Spring is almost here. Prepare to don your freak.

josh [email] said at 4:13 PM 02-26-2004: it's also not long-term yet. give cecil some time to make sure his predictions come true!
i envision cecil sneaking into your house and leaving his dirty boxers in strange places, leaving lipstick kisses on wade's shirts, and coming up with other creative ways to make sure his prophecy is fufilled!
milky [email] said at 4:22 PM 02-26-2004: Pay attention Cecil because you're new. You in on the ground floor of the second stage of one of the larger, more intricate Killoggs pranks.
craig [email] said at 5:06 PM 02-26-2004: They better be dating, goddamnit! I have a lot of emotion invested in following this online relationship not to mention analyzing the political implications based on what may or may not be Mary's and/or Wade's political affiliations.
cecil [email] said at 6:35 PM 02-26-2004: I think I'm pretty safe thinking that the only sincerity on Killoggs is Ed's Passion. And I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop on that one.
milky [email] said at 7:57 PM 02-26-2004: You might be waiting a while. Ed an I talked about the shoe thing, already. We got plans for your shoes, buddy. You just wait.
cecil [email] said at 3:47 PM 02-26-2004: ok, I'm just wrong then.
I've just noticed that a lot of people break up in February and I think it has to do with the effect different holidays have on people. If you had a birthday, and an anniversary along with valentines day in February, that's got to be a rough month year after year.
