I am now working for Columbia University

Well, I am pretty happy. I can stop strugglin'. I am still moving to Brooklyn though. My friend has a huge loft, where I can be super LOUD and bang the f'in walls. I like the Upper East Side, but the place I'm moving is just as far into 14th street as I am now. My commute to W 120th is about an 1.5 hr from Brooklyn to work. However I will be saving $ living in Brooklyn.
Well I hope everyone is having a good new year too. I think 2004 will be cool.
Good luck and stay strong - oh yeah, take risks.

i have a friend who works for columbia. his gf is a graduate student their too. i will introduce you to them. do you work 9-5 m-f?

it is ridiculous that you moved to brooklyn. you should move to morningside heights. then you could walk to work.

Let's see....a 5' X 8' bedroom in a "modified" apartment with three other people for $1000+ per month, or your own two bedroom house with back yard for the same price in Brooklyn. It's not ridiculous....

one and a half hour commute on a subway vs an under 10 minute walk to work.

you can save money by not getting a monthly metro pass. $20 or $30 will do. hell even if it's $50, you're still saving money.

oh yeah, and you actually live in manhattan too.

well the primary reason for moving is the huge space and the freedom to be loud all day everyday. Anywhere near Columbia would be 1/3 of the size of this place and my neighbors would certainly loose their mind. At the loft, my neighbors are bands, DJs and storage spaces. There are 4 double 15" cabinets hanging form this huge water pipe in the loft. Also the Morgan Ave stop exit is about 30ft from my building seriously!
