br trip day 1.

Got to the airport at 6:15 am. All the lines for the airlines were short, from 4-6 people long except one line snaked it's way across the length of the Terminal. With a sinking feeling, I asked someone in the line what airline they were flying on. Yes, the same one as me.

The line didn't really move, but to their credit, they eventually sent runners out looking for people on flights that were about to leave, so I managed to get out of there.

The flights were uneventful. I sat next to a very obese salesman on the leg from Philly to Nola. I felt bad about making him get up so I could use the bathroom.

In Nola, I met up with my friend Michelle for lunch and a man who claimed to have just been released from 4 years in prison came up and asked for change. He spent like a minute giving Michelle compliments and saying that I "sure have my hands full, dogg, whoo-eee." I gave him a dollar.

Then I hit the BR. Good to see my folks again. Ricky and I tried to go to the BFA show, but we were too late, so we went to Red Star, where I ran into like 3 people I knew in like 30 minutes : Amanda, Julie, Amy. Also Thomas.

After that, we went to this cold as hell party that we had heard Deanna was going to be at - Jackpot. Deanna, Michael, Yvonne, Colin, Talice. Andy and Katie showed up a little later. Will and Steve Obee also dropped by.

Ricky and I were cold and tired of hanging in the backyard so we convinced everyone to go out. I wanted to go to Red Star, but everyone else said Slinky's so we went there to meet them... Or so we thought. They all went to Red Star. BUT, I ended up seeing Joe Kora, Tom Morgan and Wes that I knew from back back back in the day were there. We made plans to see Return of the King.

So, we headed back over to Red Star after realizing the mix-up. Hung out there for awhile. Headed to Katie's. She got lost in her own neighborhood, but was an amazing host, plying us all with food, drink and pornographic movies featuring alien women. Eventually we settled on Pee-Wee's Big Adventure though, and watched that. I feel asleep at various points.

A good night - in 10 or so hours I ran into about 17 people I know. How weird is that!?

Today I'm supposed to meet Billy for lunch, hang out with Zack later and also I want to kick it with Loren & Kelly - maybe sushi?

Here are some pictures:

Wow, that's pretty impressive. I nearly went to several of those places too and know most of the people you're talking about. Someone left a message on my answering machine, but it only caught about 2 seconds worth. Sounded like Rick's voice, but phrased as if said by Josh.
