I found this on my ankle as I was coming back from dumping my compost. Anyone know what this is? I'm guessing it is some kind of flatworm, but I have never seen anything like it. It made a nice little slime trail on my scanner.

andy [email] said at 1:38 AM 08-19-2003: Wade, you are off the fucking chain. Not only do you ID a planarian worm, but you describe it as "def." I love people who have embraced their geekdom. If more of us did this, the world would be a better place. One problem though, the link is broken.
wade [ url ] said at 1:44 AM 08-19-2003: planarians are bad-ass. check out the pic midways down of one devouring an earthworm. Michael has a tattoo of this. http://creatures.ifas.ufl.edu/misc/land_planarians.htm
ed [email] said at 10:36 AM 08-19-2003: I try to roll out around 7:20, have to leave for work by 8:30. Of ocurse, that would be 6:20 and 7:30, Killoggs time. I get everything ready the night before, so all I have to do is shower, shave, feed kittens, and get dressed. Any leftover time is spent checking various blogs.
Michael said at 7:34 PM 08-19-2003: just kidding. for some reason that reminded me of that one cartoon that was going around the internet a year ago that said 'everytime you masturbate, god kills a kitten.' Have you seen that one?
ed [email] said at 8:10 PM 08-19-2003: I used to have a half-dozen or so Domo clips. Then I got laid off, and I'm sure they went to the great bit-bucket in the sky. Should have downloaded them at home. Haha!
Randy [ url ] said at 10:05 AM 08-19-2003: Dude, that's SO hott. I wish I could see you puking.
I bet it looks like your Friendster pic, only with puke coming out of your mouth.
Randy [ url ] said at 3:50 PM 08-19-2003: I'm Randy... I'm friends with several people on here (Zack and Milky, mostly, though I know several others on here to a lesser extent)... I've been a lurker for a long time, but only recently (because I'm an idiot), did I realize anyone had the ability to reply to messages.

andy [email] said at 12:18 PM 08-19-2003: Our meeting was passionate but brief. I had to say goodbye like a summer camp love. It has probably moved on to another backyard to devour unsuspecting earthworms.
kara [email] said at 11:01 AM 08-19-2003: What it is is gross.
That's what you get for composting I guess.
Did you cut it into pieces and see if they all grew into new worms?
I wanted to start a band called the Planarians... then we'd break up and every member would start a new band called the Planarians...
angie said at 11:03 AM 08-19-2003: This post has inspired me rip out this biology book I have from the 60's. It has a huge section on worms and marine invertebrates which is quite interesting. It says that Planaria posess the reproductive organs of both sexes and therefore is monoecious. wow.

Dawn said at 11:51 AM 10-02-2004: All I can say is wow, so many weird people. But back the the Bipalium kewense, is in the phylum with a tape worm, but so far I found it only harmful to earthworms, slugs, its own kind. The fact it will eat its own kind if it has to is strange to me, but hey to eat his own, oops I mean each his own.
