Holy cats!

Hey! I've been published! "Published" as in not by me, and not in a free newspaper. I've got a 2
page piece in the new Kramer's Ergot # 3, a real deal trade paperback comics anthology, squarebound and all that good shit. It's even got an isbn #! (0-9677989-3-0) How fancy.
I just got my contributor's copies in the mail andI think it's very cool. I'm lucky to be in the company of so many talented artists: Luke Quigley, Sammy Harkham, Neil Fitzpatrick (aka NeilJam), Kathleen Lolley, Mat Tait, Mark Burrier, Ben Jones, Joe Grillo, Anders Neilsen, Sara Varon, Stefan Gruber, Hans Rickheit, and me! It's an "arts comics" type of thing. Some of the people are Ft. Thunder people, or Paper radio people.
I met Sammy, the publisher of KE at the Balti-Con in October when Josh Ben Kyle & Jenny and Angelle and Talice and.. Kara and maybe someone else went. Ben remembers Sara Varon from that convention too. Sammy and I are trading stories for each other's anthos. I don't know, I'm just all stoked so I thought I'd tell everyone. Feel free to order a copy for yourself (or your store or library if you are in a position of power) if you want. I won't be sad.

will i be able to find this at forbidden planet, and how much will it be?
zack [email] said at 1:39 PM 03-14-2002:
Probably. It hasn't been solicited through Previews yet, and that'll probably take a while.. I know Last Gasp is going to distro it for sure, so any store that gets stuff from them, like Comic Relief in SF or Jim Hanley's in NY will probably have it sooner. At the very least, I'll be up there for MOCCA in June with some copies to sell at my table. I'm sure you'll be able to find it somewhere by then, though. It's pretty cheap too, 128 pages for 8.95$ with nice paper and everything..

WOW! Killoggs has it's newest celebrity!
Sweet. I hope to someday be a killoggs "celebrity" and not just for being a Drew Barrymore impersonator. Anyway, CONGRAT-CHA-MALATIONS!!! That RAWKS FOR YOU!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. Unfortunately, I don't think my little story being printed on an offset press has made me a celebrity just yet. Hopefully it will make me get off my ass and do more, though.
Bendependent [email] said at 2:20 PM 03-14-2002:
Wow. Good job, man. So what's your story about? Who did that cover? It's pretty neat looking. Those guys kind of like John Kricfalusi people.
zack [email] said at 7:23 PM 03-14-2002:
It's a story about a girl who likes comics and comic characters come to life and hang out with her.. It's kind of a vignette, I guess. 2 pages isn't much room to get all "great american short story" on that ass. The cover is by Sammy Harkham, the publisher. He was the guy at the Balti-Con across from Top Shelf with the beard and hat. I traded him one of my "Donkeys are funny as fuck" prints for a little painting he did of a pig playing the ukelele.
