I have just commited the cartoonist cardinal sin. I have dreaded this day ever since I started drawing. Black Waterproof India Ink, White Carpet, 3:30 am. Damn it all to hell.
So I got the bright idea of pouring a shitload of straight bleach on the huge black pool of ink that was sopping into the nice white carpet. I probably poured 2 gallons of bleach on it, because i'm smart. I started dabbing it up with this roll of paper towels that we've been using as toilet paper for the last few weeks. somebody's gonna hate me quite shortly. i can almost hear the echoing screams coming from the bathroom now. but who will it be? ...i better change it, or it'll probably be me.
so amazingly enough, the bleach has worked pretty well. i almost vomited several times and my eyes ran down the sides of my face while i was cleaning it, but it doesn't look all that bad. angele said i needed to cut the bleach with water so it wouldn't eat through the carpet. hmmm. i did not know that. so should i sit and watch it eat my carpet or should i battle the bleach with water? i guess i better do the water. i aint never seen't a carpet get eat by bleach before tho. thah sounds perty neat.
so what's going on? well, we just got back from the baltimore comic convention. it was quite benedictory (thank you thesaurus). i'll have to admit i wasn't too into it though, cos i didn't really have anything new to get excited over (except the gumball machine and hanging out with the extended wolfpack). it was still fun though. i got to hang out with some of the best people in the world all day (angele, kara, jenny, zack, talice, kyle, and josh). at some point last night i realized just the amount of creativity and motivation we had represented in our little adelphi punkhouse. it made me feel good.
a couple of comic store owners want to buy vending machines for their stores and have us send them mini comics for them. i hadn't really thought of that. sounds like a pain in the ass to me. we'll see though. hopefully i can figure out an easier way to assemble them (cos that's the worst part). i'm going to post the mini comic format soon so that whoever wants to draw a tiny little comic book for the machines can do so. i figure the more people, the more comics, the better...
comic conventions are weird. this one was pretty small. it was just big enough to be fun though. there weren't as many scary people lurking about as there are at the one in san diego. there were enough though. i'm gonna post a buttload of pictures soon. you'll see. i got my camera in the mail on friday. i have gone absolutely insane with it. worse even than josh ever got with his. i'm worried about wearing out the motor in it. i've taken prolly about 250 pictures in the last 48 hours. scariness.
conventions are a good thing cos they make me feel like a jackass for not being more productive. they make me want to draw my little brains out. they're a good wake up call. i have a lot of ideas churning around in my butter filled head tonight. i'll let you know about them if and when they ever happen. josh should have journals finished soon. yay. clap clap clap. that's gonna be bad ass...
aaaargh. gotta go push the ink around some more...
p.s. i've promised to draw some more heads this week...and then more heads, and then more heads, and then more heads, and then even more heads...
