      Because it does not stick to the wound, it can be easily pulled off, it keeps foreign matter out, one can blow on it for psychological effect, it is cheap & easy to put on.

      Burn victims have it really bad.

    I liked it though I can see how it could get expensive. Then again, I know someone who slipped a disk in their back ( which I think would not have happened if they had stretched more & been more careful) & their health bills went way high after that.
