November 3: Day of the Long Breath

My friend Mardou got This book and she transcribed the pertinent bit about people with my birthday (Nov.3):

  • "Nov 3 people's power of concentration are usually excellent, as are their mental and physical developement, but the expression of feelings is often blocked. They may send up a wall against any probing of their inner thoughts and emotions, resisting most personal examination. Yet they can bequite sympathetic and empathetic towards others, readily understanding their problems. Very deep people, those born on this day are nevertheless unlikely to fathom their own profundity.
Not only do Nov 3 people make bad enemies because of their physical presence and intelligent battle tactic, but also because of their satirical and sarcastic bent. They are quite capable of tearing an opponent to pieces verbally...Fighting their own intolerance as well as learning to be more forgiving, accepting and open are crucial to their personal and spiritual developement".

    Your health advice is:
Nov 3 people must beware of their tendency to suffer and to control their emotions at all cost. This behavior can lead to all sorts of psychological and physical problems. Psychologically, depression and self-destructive impulses are a threat"

    Meditation:

"Losing with grace can be an important win"

And, surprisingly enough, it's pretty spot on. I have been working on some of these issues for years now.. Well, the ones that need working on, like losing with grace, and trying to be less of a knee-jerk asshole. Also, my emotional distance, but that's kind of hard to "fix" when it just kind of seems natural. The end of my time in Lafayette (about 10 years back) was the beginning of a slow process of reforming myself into a more tolerant, forgiving, easy going person. Over time I've started to realize a lot of those goals, gotten better at almost all of it, even if I'm not perfect. I have definitely fallen prey to depression and self-destructive impulses in the last 5 years or so, and hopefully all the shit I've learned from that has really stuck, because I'm tired of shooting myself in the foot.

Good for you, man. I'd like to think that I'm wiser and older while also oldering and wisering. I just found out about Grant Morrison being abducted by aliens.
