cricket

shitpissdamn.

today is wretched for absolutely no good reason. that bunny died and i insulted a variety of mexicans by thinking they were speaking spanish when they were talking to me in english and i have to read about greedy maniacal corporate tycoons who spend millions buying bad art rather than thousands on mine.
i just hate this minute. i miss my friends. im tired of feeling like a college dropout who dropped back in 1/2 a decade too late. plus i hate that so many people simply go crazy. i hate going crazy. it happened once and it was the worst. i would rather weigh three hundred pounds than go crazy again. anyhow. i'm just sad about the bunny..... cricket.

Don't feel bad. The Bunny live on in Happy Bunnyland with other Bunnies and maybe some Pokemon.

Weighing 300 pounds will make you go crazy. Trust me on this one.

I'm sad about the bunny, too.

All I can say is hang in there, Cricket. That's the advice everyone has given me. It works, no matter how much hell life seems like.
angele [email] said at 10:06 PM 01-09-2003:
It's okay Cricket! I know what you mean... being a full 5 years older than most of the people you sit next to in classes is annoying. Professors and students often mistaken that I am the in the same age group as these self-indulgent kiddies. It's partially my fault because I don't want to alienate myself bringing lots of attention to my age. I also have a kindergarten personality and I don't exactly dress like an adult (whatever I'm implying). The main thing is that it's hard to go from being treated like a capable adult back to being treated like a bratty 18-year-old.

I empathize. I've been in and out of school for years now... right now, I'm back in, for the time being. I just can't settle, I guess.

There are also a lot of people at school that are much older... that helps me feel a little better. Well, that, and people think that I look 20 year old.

I'm having a shocking day too. If that makes you feel any better!

hey thanks everyone. actually, you all do make me feel better. and yes-exactly angele and courtney. i also am confused for my early 20 counterparts. and just like you angele, i don't want to increase the already vast gulf between us. the funny thing is the reaction i get from the 18 and 19 yearolds when they find out i am 24. usually it is a moment or two of shocked silence and then a stutter of wow-ithought you were younger and i laugh and oblige them and know that they really mean that my immaturity makes me seem so much younger. what do kids these days think? that as soon as you reach 22 you blossom into some entirely together professional who never laughs or burps or forgets to comb her hair? what a dim and frightening view of the rest of your life. anyway, thanks for the support. i think i will write more on this theme in my journal...

you are 24 in college somewhere in ms and you stand out? i take it you are not at the university of southern mississippi, or a junior college.
mcleodcrickwet said at 12:31 PM 01-10-2003:
no. i go to usm. i live in a tiny town in southcentral miss. now could the obsession over where i am please end! there are people-too many- out there whom i don't want knowing where i am. sorry for the awkward grammar.

i went to usm for a year. i really hated it, but i found a lot of older students at usm when i went there (mid-90s). i was taking mainly upperclassmen english courses, though.

there were a lot of older students who commuted in. i didn't like most of the people there, though. the dorms emptied out on weekends as the occupants all ran home to be with their parents...

there's some sort of house just south of hatiesburg, right off i-59 where they have all ages shows. it was still there in early 2000. does anyone else know if this place still exists?

and you should check out ropers, just once for a laugh. people used to line dance to songs like "baby got back" there. and guys in cowboy hats would ask girls in country dresses to dance to sappy country songs.

i can't remember the name of the bar i hung out at all the time, but it's now a redneck bar...
milky [email] said at 1:51 PM 01-10-2003:
was it the place called "the little house" that had all-ages shows? the helltones played there.
kiche [email] said at 1:53 PM 01-10-2003:
yes. that is the place. i was there when the helltones played there, and you stole medicine out of the bathroom cabinet from the trusting pacifists that ran the place.
milky [email] said at 1:56 PM 01-10-2003:
dude, i knew you were gonna say that and you can ask adam...I DID NOT STEAL THEIR PILLS, EVEN THOUGH I SAW THEM IN THE BATHROOM.

Someone else did it and returned the drugs. I remember it was funny because you and Adam both looked at me when that girl started yelling about her meds being stolen and I told you guys anyone could pat me down, for once i was innocent (that time, yes, other times, other places...i dunno).

Besides, I DID have my own supply that night.
kiche [email] said at 2:10 PM 01-10-2003:
            hahahaha...

i just said that to ruffle your feathers. so was it emmaleigh that stole 'em?

and i don't remember that girl yelling? i thought she came out and politely asked for someone to return them. you probably remember better than i.

She was upset and almost crying. It was Lortab 7.5's for cramps. I had the itch, but I didn't scratch it.

It was one of the few times I made a morally right decision back then. I actually had to think for a second to decide not to.

              lol...yikes.

i have heard about that house before...a long time ago. was it like a trailor or something? for some reason i thought it was in ocean springs which is on the coast. the bar here comparable to the bayou is the thirsty hippo. if your in the know you call it the hippo. being out of the know myself, i just go there sometimes to drink beer. i saw ed burch and shit i forgot his name. the guy who got kicked out of wilco.... anyway he was really sick with fever and singled me out of the crowd and mocked me by calling me reese witherspoon. i could think of worse things to be. later i did the two step with ed burch and no, that is not a euphemism. that bar is fun but i wont be caught dead in ropers.
kiche [email] said at 4:18 PM 01-10-2003:
this was a house. it wasn't in ocean springs, it was just south of hatiesburg on 59. it was right off 59 on a dirt road. there's shit written about the proletariat or something near the door.

where is the thirsty hippo? when i was there, the bayou equivalent was birdies. they always had a cover and a crappy band. i didn't go there much. they had a back porch.

ropers is an anthropological outing, and i would not suggest mixing with the natives if you go.

i had to think for a second about who reese witherspoon was...

you should check out the hatiesburg zoo.

there's also some cemetery around there with trees groing out of the graves. well, it made an impression on me...

curious things about hatiesburg, everyone refers to it as the "hub city" and go on about how close everything is together and how big hatiesburg is when it's a spread out unpopulated town. notice the bus stops all over the place. why are they there? they look like they may have even been built in the 80s.

    downtown is interesting...
