talice [email] said at 12:39 PM 08-21-2003: ummm, well i guess the answer to that is simpler than you might think. it's a soft squishy collar that covers part of my face. most of my pieces are based on the idea of protection and often what is hidden is important. it's also important that is is very soft and comforting to me. visually the shape is meant to have animal characteristics as well as be very toy like, sort of a reminder of childhood.
talice [email] said at 12:44 PM 08-21-2003: i don't remember how long it took. maybe 2 weeks or so? i'm very process oriented in my work so there's a lot of steps and planning involved in this kind of thing with the silkscreening and getting it on the right place on the fabric and whatnot.
talice [email] said at 4:01 PM 08-21-2003: it is felt. yeah, it's hard to screen on material that's too fuzzy. definitely the flatter the material the easier it is. i think i had to screen a whole bunch of them before i got some that were consistent enough.
