Friday I got out of work early and met the bf and his best friend for drinks and yelling at the Cubs at a bar in Wicker Park. They had been to Indiana to purchase obnoxious amounts of fireworks for the upcoming 4th of July party. This meant that we had a rent-a-car for the day which made getting around town so much quicker. We bar hopped a little bit that night from my hood to theirs and my cousin and I danced to Hey Ya in the last bar right before kickout time. We had also found some of those popper things. I don't know what they're called but they look like long thin candy on a string and when you pull the string they pop like fireworks. I had put some in my pocket so that I could string them across the doorway in the bathroom when we got home to scare Jeremy, but I've since realized that they're still in my jeans. I have to find them.

Saturday was fairly uneventful. Jeremy had band practice and work so I just puttered around the house finishing up little projects and read in the sun. Later I met him up at work and we went to Giordanoes, stuffed ourselves, then went to bed.

Sunday we finished taping off the front room, Jeremy made me an omlet, then we went to our respective rehearsals and met up later at the Magnetic Fields show. I got there first and Jeremy arrived after the opening act had started with a beer for me. It was weird being at a matinee show. The first guy was Andrew Bird and he did some very cool layering things with his violin. He was also really funny in a deadpan, ironic kind of way. The Magnetic Fields were good too.
After that we went to the bar across the street for one drink, I went home to begin painting the front room while Jeremy consoled a friend. I ate leftover Giordanoes. They came home around 8pm, he passed out on our floor and we just let him sleep while we started painting and just stepped over him if we needed to. He awoke disoriented at 10pm convinced that it was morning and ate some catfood thinking it was a bag of chips. We saw him off and continued painting. We didn't finish painting until 1am. I'll be so glad when all this painting crap is over.

Sounds like my senior year in college.

I thought you loved painting your senior year in college! You were always looking for new ... weird metal things to paint. Or were you just playing the art-inspired, paint-splattered bohemian to impress the ladies? ;-)
