Late night munchies

Mmm. It's late night, and I just got back from a great party where I saw a lot of faces, old and new.

But now, I feel a bit hungry. Could be from all the lemon soju I drank.

Which brings me to this: what are your favorite late night foods? I often crave some wonton noodle soup from Oakland Chinatown. Oh, and curry... yum. Pie is also quite good... a la mode, of course. Does anyone ever have their apple pie with a slice of cheese on top? I see that on the menus sometime.

P.S.: Josh, note to make "poll or quiz" category.

1. Greasy quesadillas and a giant-size horchata from La Posta in San Diego.

2. carrots.

Is there a good late night restaurant in Chinatown? I've lost track of what places around here have long hours.

I love breakfast food late night such as eggs and bacon or french toast. Also pizza. I often eat chinese food since I live in chinatown. Cake is good anytime of the day.

best post!

let's see. anything greasy is good of course. I always want french fries or an omelet. also, i am in much agreement with the pie. usually on drunken stops to 7-11 I tend to always get two things of string cheese and taquitos and sometimes even beef jerky. I've also really been on a lunchables chicken nuggets kick. cold pizza does the trick too. basically everything kiche said is about right.

Late night as in crawling home from the bar* : double-decker taco supreme from Taco Hell. I know, teh lame, but it's all that's open when I'm on my way home. Well, all that's open along my route home from most bars.

Late night as in at home : popcorn. Which causes me no small amount of gastric distress (in the form of stomachaches), but for popcorn, it's worth it.

* - notable exception is The Poorhouse. They don't close til 4AM, so the only reasonable choice is to go to The Floridian and get a coupla eggs, over easy, with sausage patties and a biscuit. That is some mighty fine 4AM grub.

Little Tijuana's, uptown Mpls. Great food, hot punk girls, and crayons!

soju bad... very bad....
my favorite post-soju grub was the yaki mandu stands outside the bar. pretty much a huge bag of those pot stickers you find in chineese restaurants here, only deep fried instead of steamed.

then again, you can never go wrong with a huge, nasty, greasy burger.

Well, it was lemon soju that, well, you could barely taste the soju in. Easy to get drunk without noticing.

But we had kimchee with pork and rice to sop most of it up.

i always sorta liked soju. just caused the worst hangovers i've ever had. or maybe it was the combo of soju and OB beer. kimchee, however, is still a favorite food.

ah, korea... the year my liver will never let me forget.

I get cravings for grilled cheese sandwiches, milk and sandwiches in general, the errant Chinese takeout.

Sometimes, it's a fat PBJ sandwich and a huge glass of milk.

Donuts.

Szechwan chicken, (with no chicken). That is just GREAT. And makes a lively breakfast. I also love Kung-Pow tofu. Anything that is burning hot is great to eat.
