i just bought this issue of this magazine. i really like this magazine.



its got an a great artcle including this heat, one of my favorite bands and a sweet review/commentary about wolf eyes preforming with tony braxton. everyone should check this out.

i really enjoyed the subscription i got for xmas. they send you a cd of music in the issue, which is cool. but as the months went by, i just wasn't getting into free jazz as much as they would have liked. i love their jukebox feature, though.

I had a subscription to this for two years, but it's been lapsed for about the same amount of time, mostly for money reasons, but also because I think I've burned myself out on music writing. There was a long stretch of time where I was obsessed about reading about music, and it got even worse after I became a DJ, but nowadays I can't really work up any enthusiasm to slog through articles on japanese noise or whatever(WHAT'S HAPPENED TO ME???). I do still pick up the occasional issue of the Wire, and this one looks pretty good, so thanks for the heads up, I'll probably check it out.
