Finally

Tomorrow marks a very big day in the world of TV shows on DVD. Why you ask. Because tomorrow marks the release of THE greatest animated program in the history of weekday afternoon cartoons if not ever. PLUS as a bonus, also coming out tomorrow (well, since I'm posting this at 2:30 in the AM I guess that should say today) is the brilliant in its own right primetime spin-off of said greatest animated program in the history of weekday afternoon cartoons!

As you may or may not have known, I've been waiting for this moment for quite some time. I already have a copy on hold for myself, I'll probably wait a bit for Pinky. But really though, why has it taken THIS long? Now if somebody can just get the ball rolling for Muppet Babies then the world will truly be a better place.

Yeah, that's right. With all the turmoil going on in the Middle East, clearly the key to peace is the long-delayed release of a children's cartoon on DVD.

Muppet babies? ugh.

I prefered the toons with the Warner Bros. and Sister themselves, didn't care much for the bit characters, including Pinky & The Brain. C'mon, Mindy and Buttons? Rita and Runt? Okay, Slappy was kinda funny sometimes.

Pinky & the Brain was awesome (the series won a couple of Emmys for whatever that's worth.)

No love for the Goodfeathers? What about "Good Idea, Bad Idea"?

ok, i love you, bye bye!

Chicken Boo, what's the matter with you?
You don't act like the other chickens do.
You wear a disguise to act like human guys,
      But you're not a man, you're a chicken, boo.
reggie [email] said at 8:37 AM 07-25-2006:
Someone should make a Chicken Boo movie where CB discovers a planet full of giant chickens but finds that he doesn't fit in there either.

I had posted about cartoons a while back, but animaniacs was never discussed. I never found it that interesting. I can't stand the whole Bugs Bunny franchise. I used to watch Bugs Bunny cartoons as a kid, but when I was a teenager, seeing people wearing "Taz" t-shirts where he was wearing gold hoops and a backwards cap was a turnoff. Also that live action/animated basketball movie. Warner Brothers is a bunch of pandering whores that can eat a dick.
reggie [email] said at 8:19 PM 07-25-2006:
Animaniacs really doesn't have much to do with Bugs Bunny though. At that time this show was about as subversive as you could've possibly been at that time slot.

Only Animaniacs could've gotten away with a joke about the word "pianist" (think about how it's pronounced) on a show in a timeslot geared towards children.

And coming soon...
josh [email] said at 11:10 PM 07-25-2006:
does that movie really need to be longer?
reggie [email] said at 7:05 AM 07-26-2006:
Yes. Well, given the fact that the LotR extended editions were far superior movies than their theatrical counterparts, I can only hope that the same will go for Kong.

Plus it's got commentary which the current DVD does not have. I'm assuming this version will flesh the movie out a little bit. Like maybe this'll explain exactly what the heck was the point of the whole storyline between the kid and the ship's first mate.
