"Drop out of life...

...with bong in hand"

I fucking quit. (although, I have yet to tell them)
I hated my job so much.
I tried to convince myself otherwise, but it just made my feelings of shit and despair horribly worse.
On paper, It's not so bad being an electrician, but really, it caused one of my friends to go on a two month drinking (and not working) binge. The money was so good, that he could afford it. He eventually went back, but now he's talking about another beer vacation.

I'm up for
"Full-time Digital Editing Engineer" for a sound preservation department.
or
contract work installing home theatre systems for $25/hr.

As of now,
I'm straight chillin.

I have a friend who works on the side doing home audio and business audio installations. He seems to do pretty well, although he definitely knows his stuff in regards to high end audio.

We had an electrician who was super good and did stuff on the side for our office for cheap. He started making money and took the entire winter months (about 6 months or so) off, since he could, and used his off-time to use many more drugs than he could previously manage. When he came back to work the first time, he cleaned up, and he was still decent, but when he did this the second time, he fucked everyone's structural wiring up, didn't finish work that he said he finished, and wouldn't clean up his jobsites. It was really, really sad. He had been super talented.

I hope the beer dude you know has the good sense not to push it too far.

I think my buddy should just quit. He's such a creative person with great people skills. He could probably set his own hours if he just did side jobs.
anthony [email] said at 3:22 PM 12-01-2006:
what is it about the job that sucks?
joe [email] said at 1:55 AM 12-02-2006:
So many little things. For me, it was waking up at 4:30am every day, having my hands and knees and ankles hurt all the time, and dealing with not so smart people.
