I got Killoggs as an early birthday present, apparently.
Anyway, hi. Some of you know me - most of you, I suspect, don't. I hope to add a little more than clutter to your viewing day.
I'm not sure what else to say. I like to build/make things and I read too much and I hate my job. I play the piano. I had a second interview for a job that is not quite so painful tomorrow. I'm in nursing school. Tomorrow I turn 26.
meredith [email] said at 3:50 PM 03-15-2005: I started playing when I was eleven. But I stopped when I went to college for lack of a piano. I just got a really awesome full-sized keyboard/piano and I've started up again. The muscles in my wrists are piddly now though. It's frustrating.
jess [email] said at 3:55 PM 03-15-2005: I understand. I wish I could have a full-size piano in my apartment, but I settle for a keyboard with decently pressurized keys.
It's impossible to talk to anyone about finger drills without being like "Heh. Finger drills." But I do need to do them.
I need to pick up my Rhodes from storage, too.
meredith [email] said at 4:16 PM 03-15-2005: Yeah, I miss my upright too. My parents were supposed to give it to me when I lived in a place where we could fit it, and now I do and when I tell them to bring it up they're like, "Ha ha ha ha, so how was your day?"
meredith [email] said at 4:29 PM 03-15-2005: Man! I see ads like that all the time on craigslist. People just giving away pianos because they don't feel like moving them. I could never ever ever.
kevin [email] said at 4:48 PM 03-15-2005: my friends grandma gave me a FUN MACHINE. it rules. i don't know what i'm doing or how to really play, but it doesn't matter 'cause it all sounds good on the FUN MACHINE!
jess [email] said at 5:11 PM 03-15-2005: I used to have a FUNMAKER, which I think is related. It only made a certain amount of fun, though. I loved its terrible drum machine.
jess [email] said at 5:32 PM 03-15-2005: Pretty much exactly like that one, except the speaker was all scratched up by my old cat, The Loaf, who liked to use it as a tooth n' nail sharpener.
FUN BASS is especially fun when you're playing it with your feet.
christian [email] said at 3:25 PM 03-15-2005: the boss took us out for rob's farewell dinner just today. it was so depressing and i'm pretty sure i didn't mask my mood too well. i am now truly the last one here from the old guard. bleah
cecil [email] said at 2:59 PM 03-15-2005: How can you read too much? Is it effecting your health and relationships? Do you call in sick to go on a book bender? Hi.
jess [email] said at 3:02 PM 03-15-2005: You can definitely lose sleep 'cause you're up reading every night and spend money you really should be allocating to, say, your credit card debt on building your library.
ed [email] said at 3:07 PM 03-15-2005: Hi, Jess! I'm Ed. You don't know me either, but it's okay. We're all friendly here. Well, except for 99% of the people who aren't me. But you'll get used to it soon enough. Either that, or you'll end up in a dead-end alley, sitting in a dumpster and vacantly mubling a single word over and over and over again... "Hamhole. Hamhole. Hamhole."
matthew [email] said at 3:33 PM 03-15-2005: Hey, ma'am. I was going to postpone posting my own introductory thread until after yours had run its course, but I wanted to say hello to you on yours--and the email Josh sent me specifically said to make your introductory thread your first post. So I apologize if I steal any of your e-thunder, so to speak.
jess [email] said at 3:41 PM 03-15-2005: And I apologize if I steal any of yours. Whatever e-thunder is. I am now picturing you holding a lightning bolt in your fist and shaking it, a la Thor.
matthew [email] said at 3:50 PM 03-15-2005: I storm onto threads riding a lightning bolt like an internet version of Lightning from Big Trouble in Little China.

jess [email] said at 4:13 PM 03-15-2005: I was about to reply to your earlier comment (to refute it, because I am pretty fucking crabby today) and then for some reason I read the entire post and was just like I LOVE EVERYONE. God help me, I really am Little Miss Sunshine.
josh [email] said at 4:21 PM 03-15-2005: being able to (sometimes) remain cheerful in the face of really annoying days is a good trait! i have it a BIT, and i'm glad.
