Eye Jammie

Is there something about a boring Friday that just makes everyone drowsy, like animals under extreme amounts of heat? Or are you all itchy and jumpy to get out and do something, anything? Today is boring as hell. That's not to say that the evening will be boring, just that I'm not expecting much. So that way, I can be excited if anything does happen. *wink*

I've been holding on the phone for 15 minutes. Something tells me I holding for no one, because the offices in Atlanta closed 6 minutes ago. No one in any customer service position knows how to return calls. They just know how to hit the hold button. I've applied for those jobs. I honestly don't think you have to have ANY phone skills to do the job. Just transfer, hang up, or put on hold. Three duties.

They're cancelling 'Invader Zim'. And there's a season of cartoons left to run. Does Nickelodeon know anything? It's a fantastic show! I'm trying to buy some VCDs so I won't have to tape trade later. Fuck. It's my favorite show right now.

Who's doing what for Bunny Day? I may go back to Louisiana and stop in BR. Haven't seen my sister in some time. She sent me a card saying that she missed me, which is uncharacteristic because I've spent so many years as a disappointment in her eyes I suppose. Or maybe just a goofy, aloof person whose main concerns remain in cartoons and music.

I downloaded the 'Double Huey Skit' from De La Soul. It was a B-side because of clearance problems. It samples 'The Muppet Show' theme song and lasts for 3 minutes and some change. That's the fun part about file-sharing. If it is out of print or unavailable, it can be found some way.

Since no one's paying attention, I had a dream that my parents had a present for me. It was a typewriter. My mom said it was so I could learn to type correctly. I got furious and tried to throw the thing, but it was too heavy and looked too pretty. I woke up feeling pretty stupid.

I wish I had a boring Friday. My Friday was full of proofs and web page creation. Weehah. I think I was starting to see HTML in my sleep.

Actually, speaking of sleep... perchance to dream. Kevin and I were looking at Wedding magazines (heaven forbid) last night. I have a total of three of them, and 2 of them I bought over two years ago. I hate wedding magazines. Such high expectations some women have for these things.

But that's another thought entirely. I won't bore you with my rants on that.

Back to the dream part. I actually had a nightmare last night about wedding disasters. Quite and entertaining thought. It's too soon for me to have those! We JUST started really planning. Creepy.

We went out last night to Rosarrios, a salsa club. I can't dance to it, but it was fun. I got to meet the art director of Brommley and he was super cool. He has a small Spurs logo inked on his shin. He's a bit sports fan and dresses in the manner most art students do, except with a lot more style and money.

I had a dream last night that Michelle was yelling at me about something (these dreams are common). Probably because she was yelling at me on the way home about money-- my new career decisions and the fact that I'll make a decent salary not working for the man...but I know she expects me to be making 40 Gs a year within 2 years which is outrageous. Some people just can't deal with delayed gratification (I know this personally, except my gratifications were never material). Every relationship has kinks to work out.

Anyway, I made eggs with smoked salmon on toast this morning and we baked a cake and she apologised for going off the hook on me. So I got her some flowers.

I wish I were out doing something fun like everyone else is right now, but I'm content watching 'Superman' on TV. It was the first movie I ever saw in the theaters. I was wearing my yellow rain suit and I had trouble staying awake, but I remember having fun. It was at an old theater back home. Completely old school. It showed one movie a week and it was always packed until the late 80s, which caused it to close down. It was across the street from the park and adjacent to a building that served as a whorehouse from the 40s-60s.

I don't know why I post these things, but I have to write daily or I get bad writer's block.

my first movie theater experience was star wars. i slept soundly in my papas arms through the whole thing. speaking of delayed gratification reminded me of the immediate gratification players..a improv troupe at harvard. they have a link to the "i can eat glass project" on their website. its a quick an easy 2 minutes of amusement for any bored souls out there.

I saw Blade 2 this weekend and also realized that I like shopping for clothes and hitting the sales racks.

I am getting the entire first season of Invader Zim on VCD. It's being mailed today.

Hooray!
