That's awesome. What exactly are you doing?

Also, what do you know about architectural engineering?
myriam [email] said at 8:15 AM 01-30-2007:
I'm not sure what I know about architectural engineering. I guess it depends on the question you ask. "Architectural Engineering" -- are you referring to the program of study, or the job description? Or the content of study, as in building structures and static loads and all that?

myriam [email] said at 8:13 AM 01-30-2007:
thanks guys! That was one of the most exhausting and overwhelming days I've had in a long, long time. I forgot what it felt like to constantly feel unsure of yourself, even down to not knowing where the bathroom is or how to pour the coffee without spilling it all over the break room counter. Eek! Also I am torn between wanting to be a silent, good worker, and wanting to show that I have experience and a personality -- this is just a temp gig for a month, and then if I do well, I will get hired permanently.

I had all kinds of dreams last night that I wanted to jot down before I forgoet--
* watching this little kid get caught hiding in a school after-hours with a bag of weed, watching him try to run, watching his mom find him and throw heat-seeking grenades at him, watching him jump into the swimming pool to try to escape the grenade, watching it jump in after him, explode, and seeing the paramedics lift the bloody bits of boy out again

* hanging out back at my parents' house, but for some reason I am angry at everything they do, and I keep cursing horribly at my parents and sister, and my mom is shocked, and so am I, but I can't stop

* having my friend Paùl as a house guest and he ate the last pieces of bread that I needed to make my work sandwich with!

But the best one was the night before last, before my first day of work: I dreamed that I built John a house out of red brick, and it was on street paved with red bricks (like the kind they have in Pittsburgh), in the middle of other red brick houses. And he saw it and said, "I HATE red brick! I've always hated it! Don't you know that?" and he broke up with me! I spent minutes trying to convince him of the merit of red brick, but he was adamant, and left. Yeesh! Talk about an architectural blunder!

Woo-hoo! Another Chicago success story.

Myriam, you're you what do you have to be nervous about.
