goin' on home

In a few hours I board a plane to California for a week's stay. I just realized that this is the longest I have ever gone without seeing my family: just shy of 8 months! Even when I lived in Paris I saw them more frequently than that. I can't wait! I miss my parents a lot, although I'm pretty sure they'll drive me crazy inside of 3 days. But that's half the fun, of course.

What's the longest you've gone without seeing your parents?

kara [email] said at 2:46 AM 08-20-2006:
i dont know, but it's weird with them... we go months without talking, then suddenly, like yesterday my mom called and said she hadn't talked to me in so long. I guess she was probably drunk but... I saw her last weekend and we've definitely made it three months without concern.

who cares, my parents rule even if they arent up in my grille, it's just their way, or lack of way

    aww, that's sweet!

I talk to my mom a few times a week on the phone, usually. It's not quite the same as being here in person, however. I know how you feel.
myriam [email] said at 12:43 PM 08-21-2006:
Well, I've made it through one day with only very minor annoyances and a lot of laughter. It's hard to see my grandparents though, especially when Alzheimer's grama is beginning to confuse me for my sister. Rubs it in how long I've been away. :(
woody [email] said at 1:02 PM 08-21-2006:
Probably a year for my dad. I haven't even talked to my mom in about 5 years now.
