Mutatis Mutandis

Pardon me if my Latin ain't so good.
The good news is that KLSU now sounds like it did when I was a freshman. The bad news is that I hated the way KLSU sounded when I was a freshman. I didn't know there was a thirst for vintage Pearl Jam or Stone Temple Pilots, but apparently there is. Well, I didn't know students as a whole were rabid Ani DiFranco fans in '98, so what the hell...
Anyways, reading about the WTC thing, etc. is boring in campus media. It's actually more interesting to read about opinions here because I couldn't give a fuck about what these little playheads here care about. There's stuff in there about the draft, but I'm too old anyway, and besides, my eyesight is total shit. LASIK surgery isn't an option for me; they found out my eyes naturally dialate too much, so I'm not a candidate. I'll have to wait until the inplants are cheaper (not breast implants! Eye implants!). Why do most of the smartest people I know have bad eyes?!!
Sneakers, my old Converse One-Stars, are wearing thin after 4 good years of service. Just the heels. Ain't that a bitch? Is Converse still even in business? I keep reading conflicting stories.
Lastly, I dig Richard Scarry. His old art and later art. Man still makes me laugh. The cartoon, I dunno so much.

And if you're younger than that, they'll only let you defer until you finish the semster you started, if you're in school.

They can make it whatever age they want, actually. If we run out of 20-year-olds, you boys better practice your mountain climbing.
Milk said at 12:10 PM 09-20-2001:
It's supposed to go in age waves. They changed the draft after 'Nam to prevent favoritism. I really doubt they'll change it again. But, that really wasn't the crux of my original post anyway.

98 was a good year for Ani -- especially around college campuses, i was a DJ at the station here at UofL for a time there. They had so much good vinyl -- and they don't have it now! (hehe).

I think she snookered a lot of people by playing up the bi thing, selling tons of records, then getting married. She's a more shrewd business person than Madonna. Ani fooled the public, they bought it, she cashed out...c-ya.
What's she done lately?

she recently released a double cd entitled RECONING / REVELING which is pretty different than a lot of her older shit.

Different in that it sucks. It is overlong, lackluster blues and funk. If anyone wants to hear the real thing, all they'd have to do is park themselves in any live music venue here in NOLA.
