Listening to the fireworks from Grant Park...

This Green Party girl lifts a glass in salute to you, Big Blue Killoggs,

and of course to our Chicago boy, you know, That One.

it's been all historical and stuff. This election has been really exciting and fun to follow.

Cheers.

This is the first time in my life I have actually believed in a president. I hope I'm not disappointed. I am sure I will be in some ways, but god damn, he is inspiring. THat speech was awesome.

Seriously, when was the last time you remember looking forward to a presidential address? I just don't.

I just don't think this has ever happened. Since we've been alive anyway.

I was kind of psyched about Bill Clinton, at the time, but NOTHING like this.

Seriously, even the people in Starbucks were all thrilled this morning. They were all asking "How are you?" "I'm great how are YOU!" "Really good!" Then meaningful smiles were exchanged.

I bought three blueberry muffins for my T&E team on the way in to celebrate.

The memory I have of the Clinton era is like when you're a kid and your parents dump you off at Uncle Bill's house for the day. It's not a really fun time but you're safe, you get fed and you watch TV comfortably. BUT when you get dropped off at Uncle Obama's house you actually have fun because he tells cool stories and actually pays attention to you and you work on science projects like building solar panels and you wish didn't have to go home to your alcoholic dad and scornful mother who never got to go to college because she got pregnant with you when she was 18.

Half of the people got to Grant Park because of me running their trains while all of this was going on. I have to pat myself on the back. With 30 added extra trains for this event, I did not stop or delay any of them. Not one. That's hard to do with that many trains all headed downtown at once.
