josh [email] said at 2:18 AM 10-29-2008: i will spare you my speech about how its not actually a google phone, its a tmobile/htc/android phone. tmobile's marketing is working.
rick [email] said at 5:37 PM 10-29-2008: Josh, I do not feel Meredith understands the depth and gravity of her decision; please give a thorough and very detailed explanation as to how her 'google phone' is actually a tmobile/htc/android telepone and how tMobile's marketing campaign has affected her perception of it. Feel free to insert graphs and other visual aids.
meredith [email] said at 11:08 AM 10-30-2008: I'm discovering new things about my phone all the time. I have a barcode scanner on it. I can scan any barcode and it will go online and compare the product to all prices everywhere, online and in stores, and tell me where I can get the cheapest one. It also has a map to the places that it suggests. Also, it will track me as I run with GPS and tell me my mileage and the best way to go if I want it to.
julie [email] said at 12:24 AM 10-31-2008: That blow my mind. Really. I didn't know technology had reached this point. What the hell, I work at a place with a retail operation and our cashiers don't even have handheld barcode scanners. How embarrassing!
meredith [email] said at 9:36 AM 10-31-2008: It's cool. I can scan a CD barcode and not only will it tell me local retail stores where I can purchase the CD and for what price (as well as like to a map and directions from my location to the retail location) but it will also compare online prices and show me how much I can download the album for online.
meredith [email] said at 4:10 PM 10-31-2008: Dude! This thing is amazing! I just scanned a French barcode (I bought a copy of The Three Musketeers in Paris) and it showed the book, in French, and gave me a list of nearby libraries I could go to as well as online stores, cause obviously Borders won't have the French version. I don't know why that impresses me so much but it really fuckin' does!
julie [email] said at 12:25 AM 10-31-2008: You better be careful with that thing... as far as I know, a barcode scanner is a laser. Don't point it at anyone's eyes!!!
