My Knees Still Hurt

Yesterday I ran home from work. As I do on most Tuesdays now since the purchase of my running bag. However it was unseasonably cold. Even colder than weather.com predicted it would be. I decided to go anyway, even though I packed my winter running pants away into storage a few weeks ago and have nothing but shorts. I had a long sleeved shirt, my dry weave jacket thingy and a big white hoodie, which I had planned on leaving at work, but decided I could take with me for extra warmth and I would be fine.

However I reckoned without the wind, which was from 17 to 25 mph, gusting up to 31. And of course I was running against it for the first few miles of my run. Ugh. It was shitty. Then I got hit by a wave. Seriously. I was running as far away from the lake as the seawall would permit and I got hit by a wave. This couldn't happen towards the end of my run, no, it had to happen at the beginning, so that I was all wet and cold for the entire eight miles. Then I got sandblasted. Fine sands from the beach abraded my legs and face for a couple of miles. At least there were no hills. Man. It was hellacious. I just had to post about it. My joints are still aching today.

But just think about how smooth your skin must be now that nature as exfoliated it for you. Who cares how you feel when you feel when you look good...although if you look like some weather beaten sailor then nevermind.

I did feel pretty bad ass when I got home. And very very very tired. I currently do not look like a weather beaten sailor, so I do have that going for me. I've just taken some Advil to see if I can alleviate some of the pain in my joints and ass. It was a really hard run!

Ironically, weather for the rest of the week is looking beautiful.

I seriously need to get back into this mode. Advil helps, but maybe if you went for a light jog today or a bike ride you'd feel a little better too.

I've got classes today, so I'm hoping that will loosen things up a bit. I'm also going to try and buy some glucosamine vitamins also for the joints.

Something I've always wanted but never gotten is a sports massage.

          Are these sit down classes?

Hee. No, martial arts classes. I've never had a sports massage either! I should look into that!

Ugh, this sounds miserable. Where are you running, that you're getting hit by waves? Are you on the sand?

There is a running path along the lake which you can't really see on this map, but is there. There are some parts where nothing really separates the path from the water.

I'm just gonna throw this in here for the hell of it, but the title of this journal entry on it's own can lead down a few very different paths.
