Take the money and run?

So I was at work yesterday and decided to check my bank balance to see if my direct deposit had gone though. It had. Something was wrong however.

Somehow work had deposited $11,593.00 into my account.

I told them about it yesterday. Although my friend Bill and I had fun joking about going to France for lunch. They had one of their vendor's account numbers down as mine. So they would have discovered it eventually and made me give it back. Damn.

This happened to me once to the tune of the less impressive $800. I reported the glich TWICE feeling paranoid that I'd be in the papers for being one of those school system employees who allegedly commit billing fraud. I read about those people all the time. Nothing ever came of it, though. Maybe $800 is just too small a chunk of change for the massive super-rich but hopelessly inept city public school system to worry about filing endless amounts of paper work over. Then again, it makes me wonder if some of those billing fraud people are people just like me who won the clerical mistake lottery.
