brandon [email] said at 9:29 PM 05-11-2008:
ouch. Did you eat the portion you sliced off?
josh [email] said at 11:53 PM 05-11-2008:
naw, i reattached it as you can see in the photo. it will probably fall off and die anyway but i figure it will protect the tender flesh beneath for a few days this way
anthony [email] said at 9:31 PM 05-11-2008:
Did you trick a girl into thinking she was flying the crimson flag?
andrew [email] said at 12:54 AM 05-12-2008:
not that much blood - lucky

Mr. Safety say: Always curl your fingers in when dicing and slicing.

Attach a maggot to it to keep it clean
michele [email] said at 12:40 PM 05-12-2008:
were you using a ceramic knife? those things scare the crap out of me!!

did you get blood all over what you were cutting? way better flavoring than tony chachere's, for sure!

I think you doing anything in the kitchen is just a bad idea, Josh.

Also, why didn't you go to the ER? I would not want to lose a chunk of my finger, especially if I could well afford to have it reattached. Second, if you had frozen the severed tip, you could have had it reattached at your leisure, and saved yourself expensive ER fees.
josh [email] said at 12:42 PM 05-13-2008:
i reattached it myself, its depicted reattached in teh photoz
brad [email] said at 12:45 PM 05-13-2008:
"it will probably fall off and die anyway"

      that doesn't sound reattached.
josh [email] said at 1:08 PM 05-13-2008:
im sure it will will fall off and die when the new skin and nail grows out and pushes it away...
brad [email] said at 1:28 PM 05-13-2008:
oh, it looks like you cut through meat, though.
josh [email] said at 1:39 PM 05-13-2008:
a little bit but im sure it will just scar over at worst. its already healing. the nail fell off though. just the part i cut, not the whole nail.

It seems once a year I have to give myself a good nick just to remind my brain to be more careful with the Henckls. This post will take care of that for this year, so thanks!
