the eggs are white...i think thats what they were looking for on those special days in elementary school when the nurse sifted through everyones hair with a pencil and her hoary superannuous fingers. i escaped my days at walker elementary without any pesky parasites... but many of my peers were sent home for harboring those vile nits.

Alas many of my kinsmen and fellow pupils were torn from the bastion of pedagogical (?) splendor that was Bains Elementary for no offense save providing a safe, tasty (if lousy) scalp for brooding vermin.

perhaps the most pernicious aspect of those infestations of the damned were the long lasting socio-political implications that reverberated through those poor souls times in elementary academia with parochial minded peers. why, there was one fellow who long years after having donned a clean scalp still wore the tarry name "lice head".
