Gen said at 7:12 PM 06-08-2001: I don't feel bad. Montreal is the bomb. Everybody should come live in Montreal. It's like NYC but on a smaller scale, and MUCH more European. I'm loving it.
The only problem is with stupid American promoters that think that a North American tour is complete with only Vancouver and Toronto. I call it language-based discrimination. Montreal is nearly 3 times the size of Vancouver. Plus all the Vermont and New Hampshire kids are always driving up to Montreal ('cause of the legal drinking age thing). The BUZZ 99.9FM (Burlington-Plattsburg), an AMERICAN radio station, even has a club/bar (The Buzz Club) in Montreal!!! So it can't possibly be related to smaller market / low ticket sales. Why don't bands ever come to Montreal?!?!?
On the other hand, we do tend to get all the European bands and DJs first...
Anyway, I'm loving it in Montreal.
Hannah too is returning home to smalltown USA. For a year, she says. So she's leaving NYC after all. I wish she would have come to Montreal instead, but I understand... She was a bit behind schedule in applying for the dance programs / workshops here. And she needs a lot of support right now (the mourning thing) and it's likely I'm just not available enough, given the INSANE amount of class-related, MCAT-related, thesis-related, job-related stuff I have to do. I feel bad about the whole thing though. I wish I could be there for her more.
