I you were a flower and...

I were traveling to Chicago, what would be a good weekend for you to meet up for a drink? I've already got a place to stay in Evanston, and a long purloined copy of Don Johnson's "A Boy and His Dog" held captive now for 4 long years to collect. Those things notwithstanding, some businessy things to take care of, and a much needed anticipated restorative dip in Lake Michigan (which all are welcome to partake), I'd like to see people I haven't seen in years. Perhaps even some people I've never met (does Yoda still read this?) I've got some la(ss)titude with dates. Input please. Google Streetview just doesn't do it for me anymore.

Things I'm willing to do/discuss:

  • eat inappropriate objects

  • hit on your sister

  • Discuss Title 44

  • skydiving

  • ride the Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier

  • spend a ridiculous amount of money on Clark Street

  • eat the shit out off a decent noodle shop

  • the space herpes

Things I'm not willing to do:
betray my country, my family, or my God.

Boystown all the way! Myriam and I both have visitors, family, etc. in town the first weekend of May, but any other time is a good time for me. It's hard to pull Linus away from his busy schedule of attending bbq's and other social events with co-workers and fellow actors but I'm sure he'd pencil you in. I rarely see Meredith. She's got theatre and martial arts 24/7. You might want to wait about a month. It's still cold and snowing up here. Unless you miss the missery of it.

Yeah. Unfortunately, it's kind of this month or much later this year. I don't mind the snow. I like the snow. It's like kids, as long as I can leave/give them back to someone else, I like kids.

Anytime before May 1st would be fine; I don't have anything planned in that time but also will be swamped with 2 jobs. After May 1st I will have a LOT more free time, but also will have a couple houseguests as John mentioned.

I'm down to hang whenever, though! I can't recommend a dip in the Lake... isn't it still frozen? It snowed yesterday Brandon. Ugh! Bring some sunshine in a bottle will ya?

The second one on the right used to be my apartment building. I liked to say that I didn't live in Boystown, I lived across the street from Boystown. My digs were too dinghy for teh gheys anyhow.
myriam [email] said at 10:03 AM 03-28-2008:
we have recently discovered the best BBQ in a america though so if you're wanting for good food, we've got it. mmm.... Chicago restaurants... mmmmm....
brandon [email] said at 10:18 AM 03-28-2008:
    BBQ sounds moist and delicious.
amanda [email] said at 6:11 PM 03-29-2008:
I miss the foods of your city.

Have you guys finally tried Hot Doug's? Saturdays: go early and expect to wait in line but...DUCK. FAT. FRIES.
amanda [email] said at 6:27 PM 03-29-2008:
I've heard nothing but good things from friends about Lem's (Chatham/Avalon Park) for BBQ, and I'm going to guess that your place of choice is Smoque. Am I right?

Also, you should try to round up all of the Chicago Killoggeans for a ridiculous amount of all-you-can-eat gluttony and venture over to either Sal & Carvao or Fogo De Chao.
myriam [email] said at 7:06 PM 03-29-2008:
Smoque it is, that place is insanely good. Like, it's hard to even comprehend how anything you put in your mouth could possibly taste THAT good.

I haven't heard good things about Fogo de Chao... not sure about the others. We did do a really good korean bbq fest a couple weeks ago--we were the only white people in the place and the food was fantastic. mmmm!
amanda [email] said at 12:15 AM 03-30-2008:
I've heard it varies by location, but Sal & Carvao as AWESOME when I went there 2 years ago. We went to the one downtown, but I think there are suburban locations.

Fogo de Chao seems to be the second choice of most of my carnivorous friends.
art [email] said at 10:31 AM 03-28-2008:
That is a great movie
myriam [email] said at 7:26 PM 03-29-2008:
seriously though, you should definitely come up!!!! this town is awesome. linus has been showing us some really funny improv (never thought i'd say that...), there are good local beers galore, food, i'm sure if you wanted to you could catch a good show... it'd be awesome. come up!
julie [email] said at 10:34 PM 03-29-2008:
Hey, good idea! Maybe I will go to Chicago, too. It's been at least 6 months since my last visit. I need some Earwax Cafe pancakes.
brandon [email] said at 4:52 PM 03-30-2008:
Excellent. If you want to hang out/can hang out with me in Chicago in the next 4 weeks, send me your digits/email via my killoggs account, and I'll try to fit into your schedule.
meredith [email] said at 9:23 AM 03-31-2008:
Just call me when you're around. Last minute is sometimes best for me.
amanda [email] said at 5:03 AM 04-03-2008:
It's appearing that my boyfriend Ben and I will be staying for one night only in Chicago on either the 20th or 21st. He's from Indianapolis, so we're flying there, visiting, and then getting dropped off in Chicago where my parents will retrieve us.

I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm imagining that we'll be meeting up with our music nerd friends at a bar that night. However, I'd love to see some K-heads too.
linus [email] said at 12:12 PM 04-09-2008:
I'm here all of April but not around most weekends in late May. I'm taking my vagina to see Rogue Wave on the evening of 4/18.

We had an awesome birthday party at the Hungry Brain this weekend (aka location of the last known sighting of "Chicago Brandon").

If you hurry, we can throw cheesebombs at Johnny Depp and Christian Bale.
