on all fours

Today was a special day. For the first time Flannery put one knee in front of the other and crawled. May 2, write it down.

Some of you may remember that a few months ago I had to find new homes for my beloved pets. Benny (with the suitcase) went to live with Russell's sister in Tucson. Mr. Cat and Baby Girl I could not find a home for and thus was forced to take them to the Animal Humane Association. For months I haven't been able to sleep wondering what happened to those two. (its the AHA policy not to tell owners what happened to the animals bc many of them get put to sleep if no one adopts them). My good karma-I volunteer many hours with a nonprofit animal charity and rescue doggies off the street all year-came through today. I was at a pet adoptathon volunteering and AHA was there. I got the courage to ask one of the workers if she would tell me what happened to Baby Girl and Mr Cat-all she could do was say no, right? Anyway, THEY WERE BOTH ADOPTED, ON THE SAME DAY, VALENTINE'S DAY! How frickin awesome is that!!! Maybe one day I'll see Baby Girl bein walked down the street. God, I love that dog.

In other news, I found a handy online ovulation calendar, three of my photographs were chosen for a group show at the Albuquerque Museum in July (only 50 pieces chosen out of over 1000 submitted BABY!), found a radio station that plays nothing but music and clips from buffy, got a new program-winrar-to replace the sucky winzip, and next week I start a new job (following my old boss to a new company) as a corporate trainer for a financial services company.

In other news, my scanner broke and my boobs are sagging.

I'm glad something good happens/happened on Valentine's Day. Me, I pretty much hate Feb. 14th. I suppose that's to be expected.

Hooray for Mr. Cat and Baby Girl!

Hooray for Flan, who will now vex you to no end by putting her crawling skills to their maximum potential.

Maybe it's just the perspective of being old... but "sagging" boobs aren't necessarily a bad thing.

And I have disc 1 of season 1 of "Family Guy", and am still slain by the humor every time I watch it. So I am *way* jealous of your collection.

    Hooray for Ed!

I am very sorry you hate Valentine's Day. For me it is also tainted though not in so much grief as you. My parents were married on Valentine's Day, 1973. My mom was 17, a few months pregnant with my brother. They were married for 18 years, some good, some bad, the last few hellish. So every year I am left with the sour taste of that wasted marriage. Maybe that is why I proposed to my husband on VD, to defy them.

My boobs aren't so much saggy but deflated. They have come down from a pregnant lactating high. Of course they are still a good 9 where previously they were a good 13 1/2 on a scale of 10. No worries, when I'm done procreating I'll get em reinflated.

Maybe I can copyright infringe the Family Guys for you...

      Heh.

      Hah.

      Oh, God.

Your parents were *married* in 1973? I was nine years old on that day.

It's one thing to recognize that you're old. It's an entirely different thing to be slapped in the face with it.

I should go to sleep now. Tomorrow, err, later today, is going to be a hellaciously long and trying day. But I'm not even remotely sleepy.

Why am I saying this in this response to this post? I dunno. But, to all you whippersnappers: ENJOY IT! NOW, MOFOS! Trust me.

(Oh, and I would be happy to copyright infringe other things in appreciation, or finding that your tastes leave me with nothing of value to offer, at the very least I would supply you with blank media. If, you know, such a legally reprehensible act were to take place. Which, of course, is out of the question.)
