Friday after work beck and I met up and DC and drove to Lake Anna, Virginia, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of poster Christian's birth. We sat around a fire, people caught and cooked fish, we soaked up some rays, got in a boat (that I was very hesitant about), and generally bro'd down in a very real way. It ruled:
Then we high-tailed back so I could shoot the MICA fashion show. That was fun, but somewhat stressful, never shot a catwalk situation before. There were some pretty crazy outfits on display, including one designer team who decided to just make fun of the whole concept of a fashion show by having the same two people (themselves?) stroll out in blank faced masks while a repeating noise loop played for.... forever, it seemed.
Kara and Mike were there, so we went and ate at Akbar after, since I was starving... I always go on dates to Akbar with them for some reason. I had this okra dish that was kind of weird!
Then I rolled over to do my next job of the night, shooting K Swift, Baltimore's Club Queen, at the talking head:
The show was fun, people were flipping the hell out and dancing CRAZY. I ran into my friend kenny, and in general a bunch of friends who were chilling out. Good times.
After K swift was done, i ran over to the Copycat annex to catch Dan Deacon. There was so much humidity in the warehouse that the filter fell off my camera, literally the glass seperated from the metal!!! Hard to believe. Dan was amazing though, and the crowd always loves him:
After talking with friends and finding a band-aid and neosporine for my friend Sami, the decision was made that the night was not over even though it was almost 3am... Cullen came up with the genius idea to roll over to Club Choices, a dance club where K Swift was playing a late set... this place is open til 5am and was PACKED at 3am. We danced for at least an hour, someone offered me weed, Sami got booty danced with by like 1,000 dudes, and some girls tried to get me to bury my face in their friend's bosom for some reason I don't understand still.
All in all, a good Saturday!!! I love Baltimore!
