in case you were thinking about buying me a gift

here it is.

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of The Settlers of Catan, this special edition is being offered. It will include all the components needed to play The Settlers of Catan and Cities and Knights for 3-4 players.

This edition will feature three-dimensional, hand-painted tiles made of dense, heavyweight resin and a complete interlocking border. Each player will have a complete set of hand-painted settlements, cities, metropolis, city walls, knights and roads.

The special hardwood case is designed to keep your set safe and will feature a special slotted level with felt-lined slots to hold each hex and a wooden tray to hold pieces for play and storage.

I didn't like this game so much. It was okay, but I really enjoyed the Acquire nights so much more.

DF game nights were the best game nights ever. Largely due, I think, to the involvement of Sonny and Brad at the same time.

Hey, guys...I'm Johnny, a friend of Shelly and Ben, and long-time Killoggs lurker.

Since we're talking about the awesome tenth anniversary edition of Settlers, and since I know that more than a few people here have a New Orleans connection, I thought I'd break my years-long silence and tell you that my bookstore hosts a Board Game Night on Sunday nights at 5:00. We play most of the usual suspects: Settlers, Puerto Rico, Carcassone, Samurai, Bohnanza, etc.

There's no cost or anything, I guess I should say. (Do places really charge for BG Night?)

We're a pretty casual group, and at any given point there's at least one newbie at the table, so don't come with the intention of destroying your opponents and drinking their delicious tears. Hardcore gamers are welcome; hardcore GAMING is not.

I guess that's it...mail me at jwd0503@yahoo.com if you have any questions. I will now retreat back to the shadows, only to re-emerge in another few years for some other completely random reason. Think of me as this site's own Laslo Hollyfeld...
