pulling in front of buses.

Today I saw a car cut a bus off on the beltway. The bus was travelling faster than the car, so there was almost a collision. The car didn't really seem to speed up at all, which left the bus to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the car. Buses brake slowly, so it almost hit the car. There was probably only a foot or two between them before the bus started to fall back.

I wouldn't want to be a bus driver or a trucker.

Tonight is the State of the Union. There is some sort of protest/concert on the mall. I may go. Milemarker is playing.

Tomorrow, the Red Chord, Between the Buried and Me & City of Caterpillar are playing. I may go to that, too.

Lately I've been busy. I've been working on this proposal to do a web site for this company that owns a bunch of expensive buildings. I need to finish that and fax it today. Also, I took over the site of a "tile arts" company my old employer used to host, and I've had to transfer that site over to Logjamming's servers. Also, I'm working on two sites for this guy Mark.

The record label is going okay. I got the covers for the Clancy 6/Vincent Price's Orphan Powered Death Machine split 7". They look awesome. The records should be here in a couple of weeks. Ben did the layout of the Hidden Hand 7" and I think he did a good job. I've been talking to distros about that record and it looks like I'm going to have most of my share of the run presold, which is a god-send. The Carrion 7" isn't selling that well, but that should change once I get some ads in zines... The reviews have been really good.

What else? Mailchains.org is languishing, but I want to crack it open soon... I have lots of little projects on the way.

                The world bank/WTO protests were indeed large, but those did not attract the affection of the average middle class person, like the impending war with iraq is.

                My point is that the iraq issue is an issue that most americans feel uneasy about, and most americans haven't felt this way since the vietnam war.

                    Kind of like seeing a good movie and then lamenting to a friend 'there aren't many good movies these days'. The just seen movie is obviously the exception.

                    The conflict between what we mean and how we say it is exacerbated on a medium such as this. after a few misunderstandings, i think kiche and i understand each other's writing styles, which is probably why he did not respond.

                      No, we don't. We do not agree on this point, and it's somewhat odd that you keep trying to say that we do. What about the WTO protests? World bank? School of the Americas? The anti-logging movement? The black bloc? Vegan trucks driving through the nightclub sections of every major city showing meat factory footage? Buy Nothing day? The Radio Free protests?

                      I definitely do not agree with you on this point. I think that, even pre-Bush's election, and pre-Sept 11th, there was been more protesting in America than in many years preceding. If that is your stance, then we agree. If that isn't your stance, then we do not.

The good bands played late, dammit....I was there until just after 9 when Thievery Corp was supposed to start (never heard them before, either). It was way cold and there were lots of people but mostly it was cold. Then I had to drive to Rockville to be at work by 10:30pm and my car broke down on 495 and I didn't get here until 1.
