Who knew! I recently came into possession of a somewhat large gift-certificate to Borders. Since there is no Borders in Baton Rouge (there might be one in Lafayette), I went to the Internet and purchased many, many books and CDs (ok, like 8 items, still) they've been coming in one by one starting yesterday with Mark Yakich's 2003 book of poetry, Unrelated Individuals Forming a Group Waiting to Cross I also purchased Heidi's book, The Effects of Living Backwards which arrived today. Once I got the book out of the packaging, I flipped it over to read the back, as my eyes glided to the bottom left corner at once I sucked in my lower lip as my pulse quickened and I beheld her in her level-adjusted glory:
Heidi Julavits is a Stone Cold Fox.
Heidi Julavits is a mist-eyed, tow-headed syrinx.
I want to blow her pipes.

I'm sorry I didn't say 'hi' to you today. I was in the kitchen tied to a batch of beer on the stove and left the computer on. When I came back, you had already signed off.
