Two down...

This evening, I met my second Killoggian. He's so legendary he has his own category. And his face, surprisingly enough, looked nothing like a question mark.

Yay!

Art and I met in (surprisingly quaint and non-crappy) downtown Gadsden, Alabama. We quaffed a coupla beers, chowed on some mighty tasty burgers, and hung out and shot the breeze. It was pretty doggone cool. Everyone I've known from the internet before actually meeting has turned out to be just as cool in real life as they are online. I'm just guessing, here, but I suppose that's pretty extraordinary, since I hear horror stories all the time about people who meet up with "internet friends" and end up dead, pregnant, missing a kidney, a victim of identity theft, or a combination thereof.

If I continue this blistering pace of meeting one head every four years, I should have met you all by the year 2525.

One day, I'm going to steal someone's identity and put a trip to meet you on his or her charge cards. Then after the rohypnol takes effect, I'm going to leave you at an Alamo motel in a bathtub filled with sand, with an extra, pregnant kidney and instructions on how to raise my fingerlings until they are old enough to breathe outside the human coelum.

It's weird, but I just got the feeling that I've been threatening to do this to people for 8 years, now.

Odd, I was coming in here to say "I would guess Brandon is responsible for most of those 'internet friends' stories."

Also, I am pretty much exactly as cool irl as I am here. So are you gonna be back in Fla in February??
ed [email] said at 11:59 AM 12-13-2007:
I don't currently have anything set as far as a return visit to Florida. Oh, I will, as I have family there, but I haven't got any plans at this point.

Ed, It was great to meet you, too. I enjoyed the hang time.

I was disappointed however that you were not wearing that cap that you have on in your cartoon head...

Right now I am hanging at the Hunstville airport waiting to see if I can get back to Boston today. Stop by on your way to Florence on Friday and check to see if I am still here, will ya? At least get here before Brandon does. I need my un-raped kidneys.

Ahh, the "head hat" has been retired. I got it autographed by the surviving band members (it's a Gov't Mule hat), and it stays shelved, now. I *was* wearing a Santa hat, but I took it off and left it in the car to hide my iPod.

Actually, the Florence trip got pushed back a week to next Friday. If you're still at Huntsville's airport by then, I'm sure your kidneys will already be crawling with fingerlings.

Pretty much all the internet folk I've met IRL over the years have been lovely people including the heads I met.

I met Art. He and Myriam and I had a few beers in Chicago. No cameras from Dateline showed up. Everything was cool.
marcia [email] said at 7:35 PM 12-13-2007:
I have met a few Killoggs heads (that I didn't already know beforehand) and one thing I've learned is that everyone in real life is 10x cooler than they are on Killoggs. Except for Josh and Ben. Those two are assholes. Craig and I got off to a bad start when I found tentacles under my pillow, but after he respectfully removed them we became fast friends...well, until I found that placenta he put my underwear drawer, --that's when we became passionate lovers. Mmmm....tentacles. And placenta.
