Cremaster Finally

Talice and I are going to go see Cremaster 3 tomorrow at 1pm with our friend Zack. It's playing one time only in New Orleans at Canal Place as part of the Film Fest... just so any N.O. folks that would care to see it know.

The DVD of it is taking forever to come out! All you can get at the moment is the order, which is Barney climbing the Guggenheim, which is kinda boring.

I saw Cremaster 3 today with talice, Josh Simmons and ZP, then we went to eat at Country Flame, Josh biked home, and the 3 remaining fags went and watched Kill Bill. The two moviegoing experiences were about as different from one another as possible. Overall, I liked Cremaster3, though it tried my patience and awakeness for the first half. Right before the intermission (the decaying horse race) it picked up and brought me back into it. There were so many amazing images it's hard to dislike the movie, even though it really is waaay too long in many places. I'm glad i saw it, even if enjoying it was intellectual work. It's worth it to work for your entertainment/art. KillBill, on thew other hand was pure enjoyment from start to finish, again amazing visuals, but you know, linear (by comparison) and fast paced. And ninjas. QT is still in mastery of his powers, and the only thing i wish was different about this film was that it was the full 3 hours. poor GOGO.. I so wanted her to be around for later.
