in the year 2003...

I think I accomplished an okay amount of things this year. I started a new job, paid off a decent chunk of my debt, set up ~20 punk shows, finally started my record label, released a record, made friends, went to North Dakota and generally lived life.

I've been thinking about some of my goals for next year, though. Here are some of them, in no particular order:
  • go to japan
  • set up mailchains.org
  • make at least one, but hopefully two shorts
  • start painting again
  • start seriously photographing again
  • be involved in an art show
  • finish paying off my debt
  • put out at least 4 records
  • go to california
  • visit my parents more
  • finish the script i'm working on
  • get logjamming up to snuff organizational-wise
  • make shirts, stickers and postcards (for my various projects)
  • go to garage sales with my roomates every weekend once the weather gets nice again
  • go to more shows
What does everyone else have in mind for 2003?

-start seriously photographing again (not super seriously, but I am at least shooting some)
-visit my parents more
-make shirts, stickers and postcards (for my various projects)
-go to more shows

These look likely:

-finish paying off my debt (except for maybe my student loan)
-put out at least 4 records
-get logjamming up to snuff organizational-wise

We should start doing this this weekend:

-go to garage sales with my roomates every weekend once the weather gets nice again

1) Move to D.C. -- Didn't happen, might for different reasons
2) Get a job -- Sort of happened with a nifty lateral move
3) Pay off debt -- Happened, but due to a healthy infusion of money from parents. Now I owe them, but at least they're not charging eleventy-percent interest charges.
4) Go to UMD -- No longer necessary.
5) Start runnnig again -- Has paid off in a big way, no more knee pains.
6) Start a sloppy band -- THIS NEEDS TO GET DONE NOW
7) Eat things from the ground -- accomplished over and over again.
8) Write something -- Yay, I kept this one, too.
9) Stop picking scabs -- still working on it.
10) Stop eating scabs -- having a hard time giving this one up

So, I'm batting about .500, not so bad. Still 202 days left in the year.

Things on my list I accomplished:

  • start seriously photographing again (been shooting WAY more)
  • be involved in an art show (24 Hour photography show)
  • put out at least 4 records (more like 6, jesus)
  • visit my parents more (yay!)
  • make shirts, stickers and postcards (done a lot more of this type of stuff)
  • go to more shows (definitely)

Things I worked on but didn't finish:

  • go to garage sales with my roomates every weekend once the weather gets nice again (not every weekend, but we went a lot)
  • start painting again (i started to do this but really wasn't feeling it)
  • finish paying off my debt (worked on it, but the amount of records I put out hurt this goal)

Things I didn't:

  • go to japan (next year?)
  • set up mailchains.org (whoops)
  • make at least one, but hopefully two shorts (i just got a dvcam so this seems likely)
  • go to california (i need to do this)
  • finish the script i'm working on (i did okay with this goal until i heard about 28 Days Later which had basically the exact same premise, so that helped me decide to quit)
  • get logjamming up to snuff organizational-wise (i worked on this but not enough)
