Faculty Prom Photo

The deranged professor and librarian at my company's holiday party:

Faculty Prom photo

I just received prints of these pics yesterday. I think it's weird that my company has prom-style photos at their parties... but we try to have fun with it.

So It's seemingly true that the SF contingent of Killoggs doesn't seem to be reading/posting here too much as of late. Perhaps it's the three earthquakes we had in one week. Perhaps it's because we have a forecast of possibly snow this week. Perhaps it's San Francisco values.

Things have been kinda boring around here save what I've just mentioned. Then again, I haven't really been paying much attention as of late. I haven't been doing much oot and aboot because it's been cold outside, which makes me want to wrap myself in a cocoon and watch Six Feet Under all evening. My thin CA blood thinks that it's been cold here this winter, although "cold" is often in the range of 40-50 degrees out.

We're in the middle of Macworld week, and the town's pretty abuzz with that. Every bus shelter and newspaper kiosk downtown is one big Apple ad. The iPhone has inspired many a lusting technogeek (myself included). I'm a bit saddened that Macworld has pretty much turned into iPodworld... there isn't as much computer-related stuff as there used to be. And definitely not as much good stuff for print designers such as myself. I spent an afternoon wandering the expo and came home with a new bus-powered external hard drive and a ton of promotional literature. Cheap Trick played the opening night party. I didn't go.

Just wanted to post an update from this side of the country. Where *are* the rest of you West Coasters, anyhoo?

Actually, Cecil does in a way remind me of my old vice principal.

Nice picture. It reminds me a little of a painting print I saw hanging in a Carl's Jr. of the founder and his wife - they're both creepy and sinister looking.

Snow in SF? The weather is so out of whack! That would blow my mind if it happened. Were the 3 earthquakes in the news? I should keep up better.

Whoa, I need to find a copy of that Carl's Jr. picture. Are you saying we look creepy and sinister?

    Rad.

Yeah, the forecasts have been saying that there is a chance of light snow for these next few days, pretty crazy. In Walnut Creek, where my parents live, the low is to be 7 degrees tonight!

The earthquakes were pretty minor, in the mid 3's. Apparently there was one early this morning too! I gotta find out about that.

I'm still here in the wintery land of sourdough bagels. I've just been locked away in a room with my nose planted firmly in a book (hence the nature of a legal education). It has been insanely cold lately. I have a ton of friends here who are originally from the East Coast, and they've always said that when it gets bitterly cold here, it feels even colder then it does in the Northeast (despite the lower temperatures on the East Coast).
The fact that SF is surrounded by water and that the wind blows in hard from the Bay has a lot to do with it feeling much colder than the temperature reflects.

They only say that to cover for their wussiness after becoming west coast namby-pambys

I'm home now and going to order Thai food. Want anything in particular? It would be nice if you could pick up BSG from Bobby before you come over but if not that's ok. I have the Criterion Pandora's Box which should be interesting.
cecil [email] said at 9:19 PM 01-12-2007:
Also, thanks for not posting the Faculty Porn Photo. I was worried for a sec.

I have disappeared. My mum broke both her wrists pretty badly. I've been adding at least two visits a day to my schedule to feed, bathe, dress, type, etc... In about 4 more weeks I can settle back into my e-world. Hope all is well out there.
