cecil [email] said at 12:29 PM 08-05-2005: the first and last shot of me I have pretty much the exact same pose, revealing how long I have worked on this look which I like to call Brown Steel
meredith [email] said at 2:53 PM 08-05-2005: PS - Cecil my dad is colorblind too! Which means that I am a carrier of the colorblindness gene! I feel we are now connected.
rick [email] said at 2:57 PM 08-05-2005: Weird. I am also colorblind. I once sat down for a nurse who took out about a dozen or so pictures of little colored spheres that formed letters and/or numbers. After five or six pictures, she simply said, "You failed" and put the pictures away.
pokey [email] said at 3:50 PM 08-05-2005: I've heard that you can get special lenses which can somewhat correct colour blindness. Sometimes I wish they made some which simulated being colour blind. I'd like to see how the other half lives.
cecil [email] said at 5:26 PM 08-05-2005: I think that's a myth but I'm not certain. I don't think color-blindness is disabling enough for people to invest in correcting it. I believe there are many degrees of color-blindness and mine is not so severe. It's more like color lazyness than blindness. For instance, I can barely tell the difference between Killoggs blue and Laker purple. but the wall behind me in that picture is very purple, I'd almost say Magenta.
I was at a science museum in SF (Exploratorium) that had lenses that apparently simulated color-blindness. Obviously I couldn't tell if they worked.
pokey [email] said at 7:24 PM 08-05-2005: I haven't been to the exploratorium since I was a kid. I should go back, once I am settled out west.
I had a spanish teacher who saw out of her eyes separately, so when she did the little test at the dmv that shows a yellow spot and a blue spot, with the correct answer being "I see a green spot," she saw each spot, and told them so. I think they still gave her a license.
shelly [email] said at 7:59 PM 08-05-2005: hey! i had a similar tourist trap excursion of the very same petrified "forest" and old faithful geyser complete with fainting goats.
