Deus Ex Karpos

Hey, Killoggs! It's been a while. The man has cut down on my screw around time at work so my net presence has been down significantly. Things in Chicago are alright. Nothing new major going on, which is fine for me.

What I have to share with you today, in the category of Food:

The Honeycrisp Apple

If God wants an apple, he must eat a Honeycrisp! I discovered these a couple of weeks ago while doing my hunting-gathering. I would like to thank gene-engineers at the University of Minnnesota for giving us their state's best export since Prince. Sorta tart. Sorta sweet. Juicy/Crunchy (squirty, even). As I understand it, these won't be in season much longer, so if you can find them, buy a bushel. Foodstuff of the Month!

I've started an apple habit. Apples and scotch. I, for one, welcome our new, genetically-abled diet. And all this crap about corporations claiming copyrights over genes and thus eroding property and privacy, tish-tosh. I've got Malathion and teflon molecules all up in my lymph nodes and neither Orkin anyone representing non-stick pans cares.

Whole Foods, though, man I f-ing miss that place. I mean I fucking miss it. You know what I've got down here? Rotting fresh farmer's markets and Wal-mart's new, test grocery store "The Neighborhood Market" which is just the food half of super-walmart. Oh, and Target has a middle-brow grocery store.

Biggest mistake ever. Moving back here. You coming down soon? There have been 'complications' with the living arrangements, so I don't know if I'll have 'space' you might have to sleep with 'john' and 'jack' and spring for their 'hookers'.

Oh, and I've got some pictures developed. Sparky's in one of them. Man, I miss that fucking little guy.

I need to go to sleep.

Fucker.

Ha, ha! No metropolitan organic fruit for you! Dumbass. You can come back. There's plenty of the fat girls with extra rooms waiting for you. And you know how warming they are in the coming winter. Everywhere I go I see things you would've eaten off the ground or knocked over in the supermarket.

I'm coming down for Homecoming. Don't worry about space for me. I hear it's easy to get the ladies to take you in down there. Whores.

    Sparky doesn't miss you.

I have my doubts... Granny Smiths are the only apples I really like. But I may try this variety out, simply because I haven't yet.
brandon [email] said at 8:57 AM 10-07-2004:
You will try them and you will like them. Break out of the mold, old man. Tap into the fresh mountain streams of Wisconsin. Clamp your teeth around freedom and bite down hard. Let the juice of Freedom course down your chin and dribble to the ground.

I was a Granny Smith man myself, but these have stolen me. Seriously. They make Red Delicious Apples taste like meatfarts.
julie [email] said at 9:21 AM 10-07-2004:
I've really been into Gala apples lately. I'm trying to become one of those people who always has a bowl of fruit on the dining room table. So far, so good. I'll give Honeycrisp a shot.
meredith [email] said at 10:13 AM 10-07-2004:
Linus, are we ever going to go to the museum? I still want to go. And I have two comps for opening night of my show if you want one.
linus [email] said at 9:44 PM 10-07-2004:
Yes, we will hit the institute soon. Waiting on one of those wine-cheese, loose art-chick events. There should be one soon.

You know I'm always game for comps. Oh, and your stagecraft! Just send me the details on when/where.
