It definitely makes you realize how locked in to the keyboard and mouse constructs we are, and while it's nothing terribly new, it seems much more practical then the VR craze that happened in the 90's.

I can understand these being all the rage right now, as they are relatively intuitive compared to the many other ways of interfacing with a machine. Furthermore, I think making work on a computer more interactive, physically, would engage people and keep them interested for longer periods of time.
Anyhow, I am excited that technology like this will be emerging, even if it's years from now.
