 | cecil [email] said at 7:14 PM 03-31-2005: how pathetic, his website says :ACCOUNT SUSPENDED, PLEASE CONTACT BILLING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
but the reason I looked is that I don't know who he is. Is he mostly famous for standup? |
 | brad [email] said at 7:33 PM 03-31-2005: He's not very mainstream, but he has a pretty big cult following. If you like Steven Wright, you'd probably like him. |
 | cecil [email] said at 8:36 PM 03-31-2005: yeah, I like Steven Wright.
"I used to have an open mind but then my brains kept falling out." |
 | jeremy [email] said at 8:41 PM 03-31-2005: If anything, I was put off by this because I used to love Stephen Wright. It always sort of bothered me.. |
 | christian [email] said at 3:26 AM 04-01-2005: mitch's delivery could be likened to steven wright i guess, but it was really not that similar when you get down to it. and also it was way better |
 | zack [email] said at 3:35 AM 04-01-2005: YES! people compare them, but really, he's better. I was surprised how much Lewis Black owes to bill Hicks when I finally heard some of his recordings, though. |
 | zack [email] said at 7:59 PM 03-31-2005: yeah. he was great. go check out the comedy central link in the news i linked to above. |
 | cecil [email] said at 8:33 PM 03-31-2005: I see. I'm trying to quit TV but I bet he'll be on comedy central tonight. |
 | zack [email] said at 8:36 PM 03-31-2005: if you get a chance to see his special or hear the cd, or rent the dvd, by all means do so. |
 | abby [email] said at 11:50 AM 04-01-2005: the magnitude of the loss only struck me just now. mitch!
in high school he was my secret comedian.
i was dimly aware of everything he did. all those forgettable stand-up shows comedy central does so rarely now. sometimes i even watched that 70s show, just for him. oh, his voice acting for shitty adult swim pilots.
how ashamed we were when we hoped he would get new jokes. he recycled everything, and it all remained funny but also made me go kindof :. apply yourself, mitch. you have so many new experiences to share.
now, dang, man. bless his little heart. do you remember the first time you saw him look up into the camera, instead of the floor? and you said "HOLY SHIT". |
 | myriam [email] said at 12:00 PM 04-01-2005: haha, I don't think I ever saw him look up into the camera! |
 | shelly [email] said at 3:56 PM 04-01-2005: Jacob's response, "I'm going to wear a black arm band and sadly walk up a broken escalator. Sorry for the convenience." |
KeroseneHeart [ url ] said at 9:50 PM 11-10-2005: I know this is an old thread, but I ran into it and must leave something on it. A little over a year ago, my boyfriend at the time and I saw Mitch Hedberg at the Irvine Improv. We actually got to meet him after his show, and he invited us to go drinking with the crew. Unfortunatley, we were both under 21.
A few weeks later, my boyfriend (and best friend) broke up with me and I went through one of the most difficult winters of my life. My ex, Matt, called me on the morning Mitch Hedberg died. We hadn't been in contact with eachother... but I guess that memory was something special enough to us for him to look past the bullshit for a second...
It breaks my heart that so many great people die from health complications due to drugs. Mitch truly was one of the few people I would call myself a "fan" of.
=(
