Okay, "do not read while eating" equates to one thing, in my book. "Do not read ever."
rick [email] said at 6:35 PM 10-07-2003:
Don't you want to know how that burger you ate got on your plate?

One of my all-time favorite comics was one called "The Story Of Beef" which showed more or less everthing described in the article.

      No. No, I do not.

I don't want to know how my petroleum-product burning vehicle got its gasoline. I don't want to know how that shredded chicken my kittens are chowing on came to be in that can of 9-Lives. There are many, many things I don't want to know. I am, after all, an American.

I find that the more horribly treated animals are, the sadder they become, and therefore their meat becomes much more tender and juicy.

I love vegetarians - they are best sliced thin on genuine NY rye bread with mayo, tomato, lettuce and a nice parsley garnish

I have plenty of respect for those who choose to be vegetarian. But it's not for me, I enjoy meat too much. I don't like the way animals that will end up on our plates are treated, but... I'm with Ed on this one. Some things you'd just rather not think about. Besides, there are far worse things happening in the world than animals being mistreated. Maybe once global terrorism ends, I'll give up eating meat.
