Where does the time go?
"Why it goes straight through your fingertips, through the clunky keys, and into the neverending abyss that is this here magic computer box!" says mr. brain.
mr. brain is quite witty, don't you think? sometimes i wish he would just shut the hell up and let me watch TV without thinking about things i should be working on. the big big plans. you know. the ones that are gonna make me soooo rich and like sooooo famous. ha ha. nowadays only tony hawk can put me in that magic zombie trance that i used to love so much.
"go to sleep, you bastard. go to sleep!" say the bags under my eyes.
"take your shoes off!" say the Feetsyoli Twins.
"jumpin' jesus! you smayell lack a butt samwich, boy!" says jimmy the nose.
"why don't you play with me for a while?" says mr. skin snake.
ummm, shut up mr. skin snake. no one likes a talking snake.
hmmm. yeah. so it's 4:15 now. i think this past 15 minutes has been the best 15 minutes i've ever spent.

So
LUSTER KABOOM sent me some comics earlier. They're gonna be in the COMIC OF THE DAY page in about a week. There's like 6 or 7 more of the old school ones left, and then it's on to newer stuff. Luster Kaboom's real name is Dave.
"Hello, Dave."
You know, I like the name Bendependent when I see it online and in print, but whenever I hear anyone call me "Bendependent" in real life it kinda creeps me out. I imagine Luster Kaboom feels the same way. Do ya, Mr. Kaboom?
I met Dave at comicon like 3 years ago. He gave me one of his mini comics. Then I saw him again a year later and he gave me another one and a shirt that I wear all the time. Then I saw him again this summer, and he gave me and Angele both shirts that we now wear constantly and fight over who gets to wear theirs on a certain day (cos we can't wear the same shirt. people would beat us up.)
I've never talked to him in person for more than like 10 minutes. Every time I've seen him, we've both been in a big rush to get somewhere. His comics are awesome though. Check out the illustrations he has on his site. I'm hoping to do a split book with him one day...
Also, here's a
painting that Dave Choe did in his sketchbook last weekend at APE.
Damn I wish I could have gone to APE.

If anyone else wants to submit comics to the comic of the day, write to me: Bendependent@hotmail.com
Also, I finally finished making that damned template that I've been talking about. I uploaded it as a TIFF file. Quicktime's image view plugin thing should let you see and print it from your browser. If not though, you can just download it and print it from Photoshop. If you still can't get it though or if it doesn't print right, write to me and I'll make a PDF out of it. I really don't feel like making a PDF right now, but I will if you need me to...
THE COMIC TEMPLATE IS HERE...
Hopefully it will print OK. I haven't tried it yet. There are instructions on the page, but they're hard to read. Hopefully you can figure it out though. That thing was a pain in the butt to make. Everything had to be measured exactly. The little books that it makes are small enough to put into a gumball capsule though, so if you want to make and send me some wee little comic books in this format, i'll put them in the gumball machine.
I'd like to eventually put gumball machines full of mini comics and buttons all over the place, but let's see how this goes for now...

"4:55 am now. i'm done typing. you can go to sleep now." say captain fingers and the finger batallion.
"you could probably play tony hawk til you get tired," says officer dreamcast.
"that's a good idea," says mr. brain, "a very good idea indeed."
