Rank: Civilian Specialist, with the rank of Acting Ensign
Occupation: Propulsion and Energy Systems Specialist, ECS Pegasus Engineering Section
David Quan was born on Utopia Planitia. He is a documented genius, practically a wizard with quantum physics, a required field for Colonial propulsion systems. When he was just 12, he caught the interest of then-Commander Martin Phelps, who brought him to the attention of the research team working on the Pegasus. David, along with Niall Sterling, was able to help adapt some of the Colonial technology to get the Pegasus operational. After the untimely death of David's parents in a freak accident, Phelps had David transferred to the Pegasus, where he gave the boy an honorary commission of Acting Ensign (which thrilled David, a big Star Trek fan). Phelps and Sterling now act as surrogate father figures to David. Though a genius, David also has some issues - the main one being that he is very obsessive-compulsive. This tends to have a positive effect on the quality of his work, but can be a problem in other areas of his life. David is somewhat young-looking, which causes many people to not take him as seriously as they probably should.
its weird how it mentions my fathers untimely demise and my friendship with sterling.
i also like the fact that i, david quan, am practically a wizard with QUAN-tum physics!
