Getting a fucking doctor's appointment in fucking New York is fucking impossible. If they have an opening, they don't accept your insurance. If they don't have an opening, they don't accept your insurance either. Some just don't accept insurance at all. In Louisiana and in Alabama, Blue Cross Blue Shield is accepted everywhere. Here, it's like having the plague. Except if I had the plague, I could probably find a fucking doctor.
I went to a doctor earlier this week who accepted my insurance only to learn that she didn't have the fucking prescription pad required by the state to write scripts for controlled substances, which I take for ADD. The pharmacists think I'm a junkie on the loose with fake scripts.
It shouldn't be this hard.

New York, NY
I bought some cookies that looked really good from this bakery near my apartment in Chinatown. When I asked what type of cookies they were, the lady, who didn't speak much English, managed to say that they were traditional Chinese cookies. So I thought I would give them a try.
When I got them home and tasted them, I realized that they were made with some unidentifiable meat product. I'm not a vegetarian, but cookies made with meat are just too much for me.
I miss New Orleans. I've never gotten meat cookies in New Orleans. Sigh.
