welcome to the jungle baby!
wow hello, it's been a long long time, hasn't it?
life has been a little whirlwind. i moved back to virginia to my parents' temporarily, but looking for an apartment starting next week. it's kind of hectic because i am going to chicago (hello!) in two weeks. so maybe i will have to wait until then. it has been helping save money so far. and my sanity is good for right now, as some of you know how i had been when i was back at my parents last time. no overstaying, is what i'm getting at.
right now i am sketching out a project that i am working on (another book) using linocut illustrations. now my friend jeff asked me to draw something 5x5 feet for a visual for his performances. i was thinking some crazy looking tree.
anyway, it is fall, that is real nice. i hope everyone is doing well!!!!

don't hate the game, my man.
so i am currently watching mtv on my day off, whilst also drawing, and i thought, maybe i would like to share my bottom 5 MAINSTREAM (we're not going to count the awesome obscure ones, just mtv-ish ones) rappers... no order
kanye west - should stick to producing
nelly - worst hooks, although his songs are catchy, but cmon!
50 cent
fat joe
A LOT of the dirty southhh rappers (exc. people like david banner though, and others)
honorable mention: jermaine dupree
i would post my top ones but there are too many to name.
please feel free to post the worst of the worst

lyrics to 'it's been awhile' by staind
hi guys. i have been super busy and just not able to post at work. and when i get home, i get tired, or leave my computer for the night.
so what have i been up to?
i have been taking on some art projects, including my friend lizz's soap company logo, and now starting my friends robina and andy's wedding invites. in the midst of all that, i am starting my comic book, which will be distributed at small press expo. i got scared because it was sort of closely titled the same as a comic strip, but didn't realize it until the next day. but it's completely different... really. i hope people enjoy it... HOORAY!
i am wearing shorts. i ate a popsicle tonight. i am obsessed with reese's peanut butter cups.
last night i was awoken by the loudest thunderstorms ever. i kept hearing my car alarm go off (i think) and remember being half asleep, getting out of my room, talking to jess and josh about myspace tom? i have had this fear about a tree falling on the house, or a car. as exposed to trauma from the infamous tree incident of summer 2003. my boyfriend at the time, daniel, was getting kicked out of their house, (along with his roommates). they had a huge soiree. i was drunk and stoned... it was 3 am, and ready to pass out. he lived in the attic of the house, and went down to pee... before i knew it, a tree fell onto the roof, and branches going through the attic window. and there i was, stoned of my goddamn mind! anyway, last night i envisioned another tree falling, on my car, maybe. but my car was safe the next day.
i am really glad "six feet under" is back on the air.
lately i have been musiclly obsessed (kling klang) with konono no. 1
they are all originally from the congos, and playing music for a little over 25 years.
here's a better description of them from their site...
The band's line-up includes three electric likembés (bass, medium and treble), equipped with hand-made microphones built from magnets salvaged from old car parts, and plugged into amplifiers. There's also a rhythm section which uses traditional as well as makeshift percussion (pans, pots and car parts), three singers, three dancers and a sound system featuring these famous megaphones
so sick. they are playing the u.s. in november... SUPER STOKED.
also, everyone seems to be getting sick. i can't afford to be sick. O.L. came in today with a temp. of 102, then went home. he didn't greet me hello or talk to me, but talked to my other coworker (not the girl who has the same position as me, the other research associate). then he went home shortly after. just two weeks ago, we were joking around in the office. and now nothing. bummer. guys. what's up with that?
guys, www.deepdiscountdvd.com sale... coming VERY soon. get on that shit!
anyway, this entry is long. i miss killoggs. xo
