Creedence

I'm always amazed how much people in Brooklyn like CCR and think it's the real deal. Granted most Louisiana music is way too sexual, off-color and rhythmic to be popular anywhere outside of Louisiana. Nevertheless New Yorkers think that John Fogerty is the real deal and expect me to talk like that. One time I was watching CCR on Letterman with my dad , who's from Illinois originally but has lived in Baton Rouge since he was 3. Fogerty was playing "Fortunate Son" and I was expecting my dad too have some interesting comment, which he usually does ( for example Bush, the Band: "This is almost painful to watch", Sonic Youth:" These guys are pretty good.") Instead he just said, "Well, I could never understand what he was saying."
